Redick is 34 years old. He's one of the weird ones where it seems his value is going up rather than down.

Man, real short term thinking here for the 76ers. They're about to be in cap hell and I'm not sure what the hell the rush was for? They were fine the way they were and should have never traded for Butler. Should have grew organically and then go after a top 8 player. Hinkie would be so disappointed..

Clear win for the Clippers. They're definitely getting at least one superstar (probably Kawhi) in the summer or next year latest.

How much is Philadelphia going to offer Tobias after he averages 14 pts/game the rest of the season? There weren’t enough basketballs for this team before the trade, and it just got worse. Butler is going to be squeezed further too. He’s clearly unhappy being the third priority already, and now another guy gets the ball too?
Lots of talent, but a lot of egos too. Brett Brown has his hands full.

In recent years the Sixers seem to be on the opposite side of Hinkie-like trades.
Never a big fan of trading away future unprotected picks.

Tobias is a perfect fit for that squad and if they win it all this year nobody will care about this picks.

I agree though it's a huge risk but if you are Philly I'm sure they realized they are not as good as Bucks/Raps so had to make a move.

I don't think the 2020 Philly pick will hurt because they have Simmons + Embiid but the Miami 2021 unprotected one can bite them in the ass.

He will get the shots that Muscala and Chandler were bricking lol.

But yeah managing the egos will definitely be a thing...mainly Jimmy and Joel lol.

They only have chance to win the east, the ring is packed in GSW.

I agree dubs will win it all but Philly has 3 stars and they need to go for it. This is them going for it.

WIll it work out? We'll see. I think they should try to get some more shooting off their bench after losing Shameet. If they could Bellineli and Ersan like last year it would be perfect for playoffs time.

People seems to forget that Simmoms will be eligible for a five-year maximum contract extension in July 2019. Their cap situation would start to be tight even if they don't make the blockbuster trades. At one point they need to go for it. Otherwise they would have wasted the key advantage of having two home grown cornerstone players playing under rookies contract.

The assumption that this is a 'rental' is funny. Why is anyone assuming it's a rental?

Huge risk? We gave up Muscala, Chandler, Shamet (who is fine, but let's not overrate the guy either), and a pick two years down the road, which is totally unpredictable.

The goal was different in the Hinkie years. Those picks were accumulated for these type of moves.

The cap is why you make the trades, so you get the Bird rights for these guys. There's value to that (a lot, if you're willing to spend).

Sixers killed this trade. If only they didn't rush to make the Butler trade they would be the clear favorites in the East. I like Covington's skillset better than Butler's with Simmons/Harris/Embiid/Redick.

We get that in theory, but it's the failed execution, the same could have been said for the Fultz trade.

Great trade for PHI if they can resign Harris. Simmons, Reddick, Butler, Harris, Embiid is a beastly starting lineup. Harris should shine as the fourth option. Boban should be good post scoring off the bench, which is something they've lacked. Amir Johnson is okay but come on.
