One thing I’d be worried about is if curry starts chucking for the half court line With his video game like shots. Then he goes in god mode and Lowry and no one can do that on the raps so the raps really need to glue to his shirt.

My biggest fear is the same scenario except Curry misses the shot and we don't get the rebound. Then he sinks a 3.

After watching blazers/gs highlights no one from the blazers can guard him but Blazers aren’t as good defensively as the raps. It should be pretty competitive as long as they don’t blow us up on the 1st quarter by 30 pts we have a chance lol

There is no perfect way to cover the Warriors, you just have to slow them down.

My preferred method is to make Green more of a scorer.
One of the things the Warriors do is they love to set him up at the elbow and high post as a receiver/playmaker for cutters. They often do this when they get out in transition and guys slice passes to him in between traps as he sits in the middle or cuts which sinks in the defense and then he kicks it out or lays up wide open layups because defenders are scared of their shooting (it’s even more dynamic when they do this with Durant).

We can’t give Curry cushion, if he has time to dribble up court with space he’s too dangerous. You want to get into him at the half court line without sagging and funnel him in a certain direction, you can then contain that spot and recover back to Green.

Gsw has multiple counters to how they use Curry when he comes down court, but this is the best bet because that way you can get two defenders and make his shots harder, and you also force the ball out of his hands.

We have the best tandem in the back court to ball hawk and also the best rotating defense, so funnelling him with half court pressure into contains will work much better than sagging back and letting him make decisions off picks or get a full head of steam.

The second option to this is to mix it up and throw green on him or kawhi for short stretches, get physical with him and tire him out. Kawhi’s length and hands can be a disruptor, I wouldn’t want this all game but just for a few defensive possessions to give him different looks and make him think.

Kerr: Siakam reminds me of a young Draymond Green, great all around game.

Curry will be the guy to keep an eye on...he grew up in Toronto watching his dad play, so I feel like this finals will mean a lot to him, and he'll be playing with extra motivation.

Damn I'm kinda scared I think kd wants to rush back and his team is telling him to as they'll need him. And yeah, Curry is comfortable here. He'll want to show up.

The Raps have a lot of good long wing defenders to throw at Durant, it was clear by those who actually watched the last two finals that Lebron was not going to have any impact on Durant defensively.

This finals I would think Curry has the more favourable match up.

Looks like Boogie will be back for games 1 or 2, and since Durant has progressed to on court shooting he’ll be back by game 3 latest (especially if he makes the trip here) as game 3 is next Wednesday.

How well has Gasol guarded Boogie?
Gasol has had the kitchen sink of big men to guard these playoffs so a gimpy Boogie might be his easiest matchup yet(Lopez maybe)

Sounds like KD is shooting jumpers, if they were going up against bucks he may have not come back tbh, he takes kawhi more seriously and has it against him, he's a threat to him so he'll want to prove something.. trust me.

Unless this is all a smokescreen and he's legit injured I think he's back by game 3.

Can't take anything easily, cousins is a star who may end up making a difference. Finals are unpredictable, every game counts and refs might help them so I ain't taking anything lightly. Treat this team like the goat team better than those Bulls.

I think at the very least KD is missing game 1 and 2..so Raptors need to take advantage of that and protect home court. They need that 2-0 cushion for when KD comes back. Rockets were 2-2 against Warriors with KD so it's not impossible to beat them but you need that cushion.

Return to Toronto Raptors
