Thats brutal. He looks MORE out of shape than before. Thats a bad sign in terms of his work ethic/desire to succeed.

He'll probably still be an allstar....but i don't see him winning anything.

I mean just imagine how how much better he would be with an improved fitness regiment. He's "listed" at 280lbs? And looks a lot bigger now. The Pelicans should hire him a nutrition coach as well as personal chef that makes all his meals. It's just poor diet.

How do you know he doesn't eat those as his staple it's the extra after hours meals that make up the rest of his day that is not monitored that is contributing to his weight gain. Zion loves sugar and fast food, someone on the Pels staff noted he's seen him eating candies, cakes, burgers, fries, pizza and chugs lots of pop after practice. The fact that no one on the Pels staff has ever gotten to his face and told him the consequences of his choices means that they are scared of offending him thus leaving the franchise and demanding a trade or finishing his rookie contract. This kid is getting spoiled by his everyone including his own mother.

I mean that's true he would have to have at least some self-restraint however the nutritionist as well as the personal chef could tailor meals for him that would fill him up at a fraction of the calories.

No disrespect to that fat Grandma's boy Zion but I wouldn't trade him for any one player in the league right now. And I don't see a reason why he couldn't start over Tatum in the ASG if we're being objective.

You didn't understand what I'm trying to say, who's to say he's not eating those healthy scheduled meals? It's the unscheduled meals outside team settings that is not monitored and they can't forced Zion to eat a strict diet, so this is not going to end well for everyone.

Scottie has been exceptional, but we need to pump the brakes a bit lol. He has absolutely no chance at starting the ASG. Giannis, KD and Tatum (all 25/10/5 or better type of forwards) are pretty much locks. Then you have wings like Butler, Brown and DeRozan that are much more likely to be selected to the all-star game before Scottie as well as players like Randle, Middleton, Sabonis and Hayward. Scottie's only realistic chance at playing in the ASG is if he continues to put up 20/10 type of numbers while we're a +.500 team and he makes it as an injury replacement.

Tatum sucks and so does his team. he jacking up tons of shots so NO he is not a lock... they also 2-4 and he shooting 40/27 YIKES overrated by the media
Dude, it has been 6 games lol. Tatum put up 25/7/4 on 57 TS% over the last two seasons. I agree he's a bit overrated, but we have a large enough sample size (~350 NBA games) to know he is more than likely going to turn it around eventually. Same goes for the Celtics. I don't think they're a top 4 seed this year, but they will be good. They've lost 2 close games in 2OT so far this season and they could very easily be 4-2.

I'm a fatass who isn't entirely different from zion in terms of height and weight (though much less muscular ha)...if i had a specialist preparing three healthy nutritious delicious meals a day for me that would be incredibly beneficial, I'd imagine. I'm obviously not entitled or self sustaining for that, and if i were as entitled as zion, I might be more inclined to go outside the diet. Still, for me, I'd imagine it wouldn't be incredibly hard to stick to a game planned diet a professional nutritionist worked out and prepared for me.

No I don't think you understand. Eating healthy balance meals would limit his cravings for fast food (empty calories) but yes he still would have to commit to it. There's absolutely no way he should be close to 300lbs and there's absolutely no way his body (knees) can handle that kind of weight running and jumping up and down a basketball court for extended periods of time.

Yeah you're right. But I don't see a why he couldn't develop into the same tier as those guys considering his performance thus far.

Also Barnes will be making less than the MLE for the next 4 years. :reporter:

No. Not base on his projection and potential. Other than Luka, did those guys look as impressive or put up the same numbers their rookie years ? And yes I know we're only 5 games into the season.

He's not commiting to it because he's not discipline enough to do it. That's my point this kid loves food and the Pelicans org can't tell him what to do without upsetting him, perhaps this is his way of telling them he doesn't want to be there anymore.
