You could give Doc the Dream Team and he'd still find a way to blow a 3-1 series lead.

I keep hearing this rumor but it makes no sense. What could the Bucks possibly offer the Hawks here? They don't have any picks, not even 2nds.

Watching the NBA media talk about DM as if he can just be picked up on the buyout market for free is hilarious.

So your team has better record than before even though you lost a huge defensive presence in Jrue Holiday and you still would not acknowledge your new coach? I guess bad fans deserve a bad organization

That does not answer my question lol. You did get a shot in thought at bucks fans so gg I guess.

I wonder if the general reaction to the Doc rumors will cause MIL to change course in a similar way the public reaction to BKN wanting to hire Udoka seemed to sway them in another direction. Like, is there anyone who thinks that hiring Doc is a good idea?

I've been hoping it'll go like the Isiah Thomas rumors for Phoenix. For Milwaukee's sake.

The Bucks after 43 games the last few seasons:
2022-23: 27-16
2021-22: 26-17
2020-21: 29-14

The Bucks after 43 games under Griffin: 30-13. This is more impressive when you realized that Bucks replaced such a good defensive player (Jrue) with one of the worst defensive player in NBA (Dame).

Are you still going to deny Griffin's work?

Their best start since 2019 (30-5).
They go on to win the NBA title the next season.
Under coach Bud (another coach they fired).

Bucks FO is odd.

If Giannis is behind this firing, as well as the hiring in the offseason, his rep should take a hit for the meddling.

He also waited until after the Dame trade to sign his extension.

Maybe it all works out and they win the East. But it seems more likely that he judged the basketball fit incorrectly.

Not to mention, the Bucks left themselves vulnerable to Jrue ending up in Boston, their biggest likely rival for winning the EC.

Giannis should be seen as a LeBron level roster meddler at this point. Too much player empowerment.

Maybe they got it wrongs switching Dame for Holiday.

That was a lateral move overall, but it got Giannis to resign long term so success for the organization

The Bucks been bending over backwards for Giannis once he became a HoF caliber player. He always says that will sign if the Bucks are interested in winning and then the Bucks run out there and make a trade.

All orgs without a strong figurehead in the executive suite or as a coach do this.

I don't see anything wrong with it. It's not like the Bucks are the Heat who have Riley being the voice that keeps the organization sane and on track.

Once Giannis leaves, Bucks are back to where they started.

Bucks fire Adrian Griffin

Doc Rivers emerges as leading candidate

Comments to rationalize bad contracts -
1) It's less than the MLE
2) He can be traded later
3) It's only __% of the cap
4) The cap is going up
5) It's only __ years
6) He's a good mentor/locker room guy

What a stupid hire that makes everyone look incompetent.

Griffin is a worthless coach if he can't last a year, but the Bucks FO is even more worthless if they hired a coach if they can't make it a year. And the Bucks players are worthless divas if they can tolerate this garbage. Just pure stupidity all the way around.

He should voice his opinion, use his leverage.

Because there's a good chance he might not get another ring again.

He just turned 29, was 27 when he won the title. He needs help but Bucks may not have the assets for big trades for several years.

The lesson for superstars may be that they need to form their own super teams or the teams that draft them better hit on a couple others on the same timelines. Middleton was a hit but injuries and age may no longer let him be the #2 on a contender.

Lillard may be that #2 but it remains to be seen if he will replicate his post-season performance on the Bucks.

None too thrilling.

Could've had Nurse or Vogel. Ouch.

Atkinson is still out there, no?

It's not as impressive when you consider:
1. We have the easiest schedule in the league so far. We played the pistons four times I think, spurs 2x, etc
2. AG was playing 10% more than the prior four years under Bud....and minutes were going up like 38 against the pistons
3. We have been healthy. Giannis has only sat 2 games, midds and brook missed huge chunks of the prior seasons
4. Dame is better than Jrue even accounting for defense.

I was thinking the exact same thing.

It honestly seems like he has the Mikwaukee organization in a strangle hold.... but at the same time he's the best chance that they will have at winning a championship, and he has stated that's all he wants.

As Carmelo said, if a star gets credit for losing, they should also get the same credit for winning. Giannis is building his legacy, I doubt he cares if people think he's the reason why they don't have Nurse. At the same time I bet he sees Griffin isn't competent, so he went to management. Milwaukee should do whatever it takes to keep Giannis happy.

With that being said, I don't think this is Giannis. I have a feeling Lillard is behind this.
