The Hawks must blowup the team. And Young will be kept.

In conclusion: I'd be SHOCKED if Murray was in Atlanta next year. Also, with the Spurs, Murray was a good team defender. I think he can fit well in a scheme.

That said: I don't thunk the Magic has the assets Atlanta wants. Draft picks is not going to do it, nor is Black and Howard.
Maybe something around Carter, but even that seems unlikely. The Magic like Carter, for example.

Anfernee Simons is the same basic kind of addition as Murray, and here, draft assets and Black / Howard does get it done. The Blazers has no interest in trying to win next year.

Murray and Simons are very different players though. I think Murray is much better, and despite his mediocre shooting, i like his fit more.

A trade with the Hawks would likely either have to be a 3 team trade, or the Hawks take future picks that they can later flip for other players.

I give the edge overall to Murray, but then you have to adjust for cost. What does it cost to get Simons vs Murray. It likely takes a minimum of 2 picks plus a player, maybe 3 picks, for Murray. Simons should be a lot less. Simons a better shooter, Murray a better passer and defender. depends to me a lot on how much PG responsibilities can Suggs handle.

Thats fine i dont mind giving up 3 picks for Murray. We can finally get a good PG after years and years of **** PGs. I dont believe Simons is the answer to our PG problem.

I really don't think it is going to cost all that much to get Murray this summer.

He was shopped HEAVILY at the deadline and the cost was allegedly just two first round picks and one young player.

Like if that's all it is going to take, sign me up for Jett, 2024 Magic 1st, 2025 Magic 1st and call it a day.

The fit with Murray I think is unquestionable. He reminds me of an idealized Fultz. Fultz obviously was limited by his physical ailments and at his best isn't near the level, but they have similar play styles and I think that really works on this team.

Think I still pass though. Murray is a B****.

My main concern with Murray is that his defense has really regressed since going to Atlanta.

I don't know if that's just a "when you're surrounded by garbage, you become garbage" situation and he could turn it around on a team that emphasizes defense like the Magic's does.

If I was certain he would get back to the defense he showed in his San Antonio days, you're hard pressed to find a better fit. He was the 26th best player in the league according to EPM just three years ago with the Spurs.

He was outside the top 100 each of the last two years with the Hawks, primarily because of poor defense.

Maybe we could give DLo a $25m one year deal and save our cap room for 2025.

I think any team would love to have Paolo, 21 year old all star who led his team to the playoffs.

With that said he is a bit of an odd player to build around because he's best as a lead ballhandler but has a below average fg%.

Wish we could go back in time and grab 2019 Bradley Beal, a guy who scores a ton of points without dominating the ball.

Ironically, present day KD would probably be a better fit than prime KD because still scores a ton of points but does it off the ball more.

This trade wasn't some conspiracy - it was just a GM wanting AD bad enough where in most people's eyes he overpaid by a long shot to get him.

We're spending our 25 summer cap room on Suggs and Franz extensions and re-signing Isaac...now or never.

Agreed, these are the priorities this summer.

Fine for me. He´s a nice player but IMO not a really big upgrade compared to Harris. We need another kind of guard first, a ball handler, scorer, before we should adress the perfect complimentary role players next to our big 4 (Banchero, Franz, Suggs, lead guard)

A guy that can hit 7 3s in a half would be a huge upgrade over Gary. And I like Gary.

Last three seasons, Allen is hitting 2.9 3s per 36 on 42%.
Harris in same timespan is hitting 2.4 3s per 36 on 39%.
Not that big of difference. And Allens % is inflated by playing next to 3 offenive juggernauts, he wont be that open in Orl.

Grayson has the same agents as Gary Harris and Donovan Mitchell.

Monk has the same agent as Goga.

JI isn’t your starting center? I doubt any of the centers you have listed want to play 2nd fiddle.

Tyus and Cole don’t work together in the same rotation. I don’t see us doing anything with Cole this offseason.

Allen’s biggest upgrade over Harris is availability.

Played games past 2 seasons

Allen = 147
Harris = 102

I love JI, not sure I trust him... yet.

That's a great point about Tyus and Cole. I'm with you.
