I can guarantee that Kolek is not going to the Magic at 18.

Edey is a physical screener so can improve IQ & Dick's offense immediately. Re: post ups, remember in back end of shot clock, an Edey post up is a good option and yes depending on who's guarding him, he can get a shot off faster than you think.
Organization can be defined as an organized body of people with a particular purpose. Not random.

It's probably best to believe Edey aside from the fact he started hooping in grade 10.

If Edey somehow gets that FT shot up to 80% and his post dominance translates where he's getting fouled left and right, he could shatter the concept that you can't run a team through a 90's big anymore. He has the physical tools to be the best post player and offensive rebounder alive right now.

The post stuff is tricky in the NBA. In a darko offense, he will need to be able to process very quickly to make passes and get advantages. That's going to be a key for him

I’m not sure who I like more between Jaylon Tyson and this kid. I’d be happy with either at 31.

I doubt Edey will be there at 19. He was too dominant at the college level and this draft is too weak for some lotto team not to take a shot at him. OKC has no reason not to reach for him at 12

Proud of him. He's been my guy from the beginning of this draft cycle when he was originally mocked in the second round.

IMO he has the least bust potential in perhaps the whole lottery. I really see a Derrick White/Alex Caruso kind of player there. He's going to be really, really good.

I've been looking in Djurisic as well and he's really interested me. Could be a Bogdanovic kind of player...think he still ends up in the second round but I feel like he'll be one of those guys who could be one of the better players from this draft 3-4 years from now.

They're rumored to be after Hartenstein, i dotn think they can fit all 3 of Hartenstein/holmgren and Edey

My hope is that someone does take him before #19 so that Masai does not get tempted to take him.

Between the Spurs at #8, Memphis at #9 and OKC at #12, I think one of them would take him. Otherwise, he's probably on the board at #19 and won't slip past NOLA at #21.

I think where this guy has come from since he was 15/16 years old to now as a 22 year old and that level of growth and development is insane.

He's going to have ridiculous gravity in the NBA. We saw the impact Gradey had on the perimeter with his gravity in the second half of the season. Imagine the gravity Edey is going to have rolling to the rim. 7'3.25" barefoot, 7'10.75" wingspan, 299 lbs.

There will be match up issues at times, no question. However he is a match up nightmare himself. Also there is the reality he might only play 25-28 minutes per game anyways. Poeltl has never averaged more than 27 minutes per game once (29mpg).

If his ability to hit the 3 is real, and given how he played/his role at Purdue and the fact he only started playing ball at 15/16 years of age and he hits 70%+ from ft line then it might just be, then my interest is suddenly very real.

I guess the question is would you rather plan to strategize with or against Edey? I think I'd rather strategize with.

Good interview:

He's in play at 19
We know what he is offensively. The shot will swing him and if he can get there hitting like a Brook Lopez, he will have a long career.
He won't have post ups in the NBA but he can operate in the pick and roll and be a fun roller where he can finish or look to pass out (this will also need to be improved upon and how he processes defenses).
But the main thing is how they project him defensively. If they think he's too slow and will get burned, knowing this FO, they prob pass. What's good is that he's a big who loves the game and loves to work. Toronto kid helps

I don't think his determination and work ethic gets talked about enough. To not only do what he has done in the last 6 years, but to also transform his body like has done, that takes discipline and desire.

He isn't a sure thing by any means, but if an NBA team can put a championship defense around 32 year old Brook Lopez as the Bucks did in 2021, then I'm sure a team could work with Edey. Edey doesn't need to block shots, he just needs to use his frame to make opponents miss shots. Plus, he's a Hoover on the glass.
Brook blocks the hell out of shots though. And is the opposite of a hoover on the boards. Andrea bargnani rebounding.

They're kinda opposites aside from the fact that They're big and slow.
