All this talk about getting a backup 5 seems to be just chatter from the media and fans I think. It seems the FO is probably looking for a backup center but might be comfortable enough with the fallback plan of running it back with Precious as the backup.
Fred Katz also mentioned that maybe they might not want to do a trade because they want to be able to have trade assets just in case any unforeseen issues pop up before the trade deadline.
I think the closing lineup of Randle, OG, Bridges, Hart/Dvo, Brunson is going to be good enough to beat most teams in the east since theres only maybe 2 teams (Phi/Bucks) that have legit bigs that can punish this lineup.
This makes the most sense right now... but it still doesn't address the issue of Mitch's injury risk which could derail the season.
