WCS is going to be an great NBA pro, I wouldn't be that angry. I would just be depressed we couldn't have the youthfulness and potential of Okafor or Towns. WCS has spent 3 seasons in NCAA ball(which is perfect for a guy like him to redefine and sharpen his game). I just can't imagine how good Towns or Okafor will be 3 seasons from now. Thats why it would hurt me if Jackson passed on those freshmen, especially Towns.
WCS can be a starter from day 1, as well as the other guys. I just feel like Towns will end up being the better overall player, Okafor obviously best offensively player.

I hate when people talk about his low numbers. His per minute numbers are amazing. Now the hard part is finding out how much of that per minute greatness is due to the team around him being so strong and how much of it is him.
I understand that his per minute numbers are amazing, but so are Brandon Wright's IIRC. I'm not saying that he's the next Wright, but I just really want the Knicks to get this pick right. I'm holding on to the belief that if he was on a different team is numbers would be much greater and he'd be showing more....I just hope I'm not wrong.

oh the the 10 shots at the rim... that's cause of hte duke guards who can't create a forcefield at the paint for okafor... and it's ME who's on his dick?
get over yourself.. you don't know ****...
This thread is making everyone go after each other. I think we need to relax...me included. At the end of the day we're all Knicks fans and we just want to see the team pick up a great player in the draft and do better next season

His numbers werent low though. He was in foul trouble all game, partly his fault and partly some awful calls. Prob played only about 15 min and still got 8/4/2/2 with his usual solid D. Kid just needs to stay on the floor.
Excuse time is over though. Tournament time.
I expect Ohio State to get eliminated right away. Maybe win a game at most. Russ' team is just ass.
Duke will get to the Sweet 16, possibly elite 8, then lose. I see teams pulling a ND and letting Jah get his, so he could put up a 35 pt night.
Cant see how I could pick anyone but Kentucky to win it all now. Towns should have a bunch more high pressure games to play.

Towns back in.
Its a 50/50 thing. Jahlil can't afford to foul and he certainly can't be a great interior defender with how often their guards allow people to attack the rim (I know a sports writer that has access to the NCAA synergy stats and he told me Jahlil contests nearly 10 shots a game at the rim. An extraordinary amount) but he can afford to play a little harder on small attacking guards (maybe not wings who will get the call more often).
On the other hand with Towns he can afford to foul as much as he wants. Kentucky can do without him. Actually the team has a better scoring margin per minute without him on the floor than with him on the floor (that largely has to do with how much stronger the Kentucky bench is than other teams).
Now does that mean I don't care about his fouls? No. He should be able to play defense without getting all those dumb fouls he gets and in the NBA teams will attack him if he's foul prone.
Where are your sources?

It's a shame Russell's team is so trash...he's my favorite out of the 3 to watch. I think that Okafor will put up his usual numbers, and I'll keep my eye on Towns when they face the better teams in the tournament.

Well then what about Blackfeet's idea? Grab OK4, trade down for assets including WCS? Would PJax still be fired?
Depends on the assets. Better be really good.

russell is the most entertaining... his team sucks.. they'll likely get bounced early....
arizona is probably the 2nd best team in the nation and has a good shot at the national title... utah also has a strong shot...

Then please give us some ideas as to what you mean by "really good." Enumerate a couple good scenarios that would please you.
Tanking again, I suppose. Is there any other way?

For what? The scoring margin thing? statsheet.com keeps NCAA +/- numbers.
EDIT: Actually they update the numbers real time and after today that statement is no longer true.
I'll embed the charts on his +/- and on/off (they call it Roland Rating) game to game if you guys want.

I think we gotta look at just who this WCS really is. He just won the SEC tourney MVP award....over KAT of course. Beyond that, he's a game-changer because of his ability to play fantastic D, block shots, rebound, not foul much, steal the ball and score just enough. I think he's damn good.
If we had him on the Knicks next year along with a healthy Melo and at least one decent FA, we'd be a contender.

Honestly, I would be cool with it until about Thanksgiving. By then we will know if Phil is a dud or if he is brilliant.
Okafor could come in the league scoring and passing at a good rate, but fouling out in 20 mpg. Towns could look like charlie Villanueva with hair. We will know more later on.

Or more likely, not fouling out at all, and playing no D!
In fact Towns is the one more likely to foul out along with playing good D.

Maybe something like the Philly pick (if they drop to like 6th - will be WCS or Stan the Man), Lakers pick (can't be top 5 so let's say 8th - get WCS), and a future pick or two. I'd never happen though. I really haven't put much thought into it. WCS has high bust potential and his ceiling isn't even that high. Picking him hasn't crossed my mind at all.

It would be him getting rid of Tyson to then bring in the same player months later.

The team that gets the #1 pick will have a lot of sleepless nights until draft night. The masses will end up forcing them to take Okafor whether they want to or not.

I frankly wouldn't be disappointed at all.![]()
If he traded down and picked up an extra pick in this draft and a 1st in 2016 and they were sold on the fact that WCS can give them what they need then i'd be cool with it but i don't see it happening and definitely don't see Phil drafting him over OK4/Towns/Russell/Mudiay. WCS is playing really well right now in this tournament.

For Phil to take WCS, he needs to have one hell of an offseason signing players. You draft WCS if you have a team that possibly could go deep in the playoffs. I'm not saying WCS is better than Towns or Okafor...he isnt. But he is a guy who can contribute to a winning team with imo little NBA adjustment.

my biggest fear. It's like when Oden was taken #1. Hope we take who WE BELIEVE is BPA, not who America does.
