There was a great article written in espn the mag about "hero ball" basically arguing about how playing like kobe does in crunch time is a horrible way to finish games! Of course he hit some big shots, but hes taken a ton of bad shots and missed as well.

Chicago's titles hopes got screwed so bad. Obviously losing Rose absolutely shut the window on their title hopes this year (which were probably smaller than Chicago believed they were). But I think getting beat in the ECF by the Heat likely would have motivated the Bulls front office to take things another direction, in realization that the regular season champion is different than the playoff champion. I imagine Boozer could have been amnestied. Deng could have been traded. They could have made another play at Dwight, etc. But now it seems as if Chicago will lose to the 76ers, and come in to next season with the same roster and notion that "had everyone stayed healthy" they would have beat the Heat. Ugh. Rose tearing his knee probably put the Bulls organization back at least 18 months from the conclusion they would have been at had they lost a close series to Miami.

Melo = TEH BEST.

Also, notice LeBron has made more while taking less. Good point though... I guess that's the best way to prove Kobe is 'clutch' and 'the best' is by lying about it.

Some great posts from Bulls board. They know what is going on:

The high shot % that Sixers had was a result of our missed shots starting their fast breaks. I don't think it's something that's just going to come back down to earth

The Sixers have the fastbreak ability to get a ton of easy points. And without Rose there to run the offense well (which neither Lucas nor CJ can do), Philly's opportunity to run off of misses and turnovers is greatly increased.

A big problem, as others have pointed out, is that without Rose, we can't get easy points.
1) We have no low post presence (Please don't say Boozer...)
2) We suck at getting to the line.
3) We suck at getting points in transition.

With Rose, problems 2 and 3 are greatly alleviated. And to a certain extent, so is problem 1, via easy offensive rebounding opportunities off of Rose's misses.

So without all that, it's just gonna be extremely tough to win a series. Certainly it can be done against Philly, probably one of the 2 or 3 worst teams in the playoffs. But it won't be pretty.

No Rose =

-No space for bigs to get a ton of second possessions
-Korver, Deng easier to guard
-No players getting double teamed
-Long jumpers

Philly's defense was really good in the second half, they smelled blood in the water. Teams don't play as hard as they can every game in the regular season though, and this is what some don't realize when you get silly stuff about like how Deng is the Bulls real MVP and how good we were without Rose. Playoffs competition steps up and is more consistent.

This is the danger in lacking any sort of shot creation, all those easy off ball routes just get banged, off timed, and suddenly reaching hands are all in the passing lanes.

I really love watching the Spurs play. Tim Duncan is one of my favorite players of all time. Popovich is an amazing coach. Hell, even Jackson is willing to not to be a dumbass every possession in SA. They are at every level what I wish the Bucks were.

I'm also getting fed up with Shaq as part of TNT crew. His entire shtick is interrupting and insulting Barkley. He offers nothing even remotely intelligent in terms of analysis.

You're tripping Serge, Shaq is awesome with the crew. He's actually a decent analysis when he wants to be, he was the only one to accurately predict all 16 teams to make the Playoffs.

Shaq is clueless. His "analysis" is usually composed of comparing himself to the big men playing and talking about how inferior they are to him and how they need to put up 30/15.

Bobby Simmons is starting on a playoff team.

....because Caron Butler is out. It's not like he started all year and they still made the playoffs.

It's nice to see that Bobby was able to turn his career around to the point he's back in the league and given a chance to start tonight even though it's mostly due to an injury.

Well I guess if you're a miserable person who don't like seeing people who turn their life around when given a second chance by working hard, it isn't.

Conley is a damn, damn solid PG. Between him or Sessions, we were definitely better off taking the minimal cap space.

Griffin is already a really good player but man he's still got a lot he can improve on.
