If NE doesn't franchise or re-sign Nate Solder, I would love to bring him in too; it's time to move on from Staley IMO; he needs to play for a contender.

Solder
Nelson (I don't care if it's at #2 in the draft)
???
Braden Smith
Brown

...If Garnett actually shows something, maybe Braden Smith could move to C??? Just get that man in a Niners' uniform somehow if possible.

If Brown plays again on Sunday like he did last against Chandler Jones then I'm fairly confident Kyle will see him as Staley's replacement. Probably this off-season lol.

What a physique. Man.

Started a thread about him on WZ's draft page back in September. Here was my take:

Braden Smith is pretty impressive. Maybe not on Quenton Nelson's level, but he looks pretty good so far (based on his was his 2016 footage).

On this play, he blocks the DT to the outside & then picks up the DE running a stunt with no problem. Nice!

Image

On this play, he just pushes the DT three and a half yards back; he was pushing his guys around all day.

Image

If Tomlinson doesn't work out, he might be a nice option. Extremely athletic & plays low. Dominates in both aspects of the game.

Oh and I'm pretty confident when I say this...it hasn't worked out with Tomlinson. Maybe he can make a transformation but I would prefer for him to not be a starter next season. He has way too many plays where he is just thoroughly dominated.

Lamar Jackson going #1 overall is not a far fetched scenario. This time last year compared to Deshaun, I give him a higher grade and believe the risk is well worth it:

You are right. I don't see it either. He is a 1st round bust. Detroit would not have given up on him if there was anything there. He was underperforming there. I would rather have Garnett in there. Hopefully Garnett comes back better next year. We need another guard and Center. Kilgore isn't cutting it either

Baker Mayfield - QB - Sooners

Oklahoma senior Baker Mayfield is now NFL Media's No. 1 ranked QB in college football.

Once again, the list is comprised of five of NFL Media's draft experts' top 10 lists. "Mayfield is pulling skeptics onboard his bandwagon each week," the group writes. Mayfield has been doing this for years. Look back at his game against Tennessee, where he evaded countless sacks in the backfield to lead the Sooners to a comeback win. He is #fun.

Sam Darnold - QB - Trojans

According to ESPN's Jordan Raanan, Giants co-owner John Mara directed the team's front office to closely evaluate the draft's top quarterbacks.

Apparently, the direction was handed down when it was clear the Giants would not be winning anything this year. Raanan adds Marc Ross, who is a personnel executive for the Giants, traveled to evaluate UCLA's Josh Rosen in recent weeks. Eli Manning is approaching 37-years-old and the Giants invested a third-round pick in Davis Webb, but an early quarterback selection could definitely be in their future. It is important to note all area scouts evaluate quarterbacks in their region, but getting higher-ups involved this early in the process in noteworthy.

J.K. Dobbins - RB - Buckeyes

Ohio State HC Urban Meyer said that the team has discussed involving freshman RB J.K. Dobbins to a greater degree for Saturday's game against Michigan State.

We're on board, here. Dobbins saw just six carries in Saturday's blowout loss to Iowa. Granted, some of that was simply due to game situations in the second half -- the Buckeyes were forced to largely lean on the pass due to the score. Even beyond that one contest, though, Dobbins has yet to receive more than 15 carries in a game since OSU's season-opening win over Indiana. He rushed for a season-best 181 yards in that one. For the campaign as a whole, the impressive youngster has put up 914 yards on the ground with five touchdowns while working to a 7.7 YPC clip.

Vita Vea - DL - Huskies

Draft Analyst's Tony Pauline reports that Washington redshirt junior DL Vita Vea will declare for the draft after the season.

"Scouts feel Vea, who considered entering last April’s draft, will be selected in the top half of round one," Pauline writes. Back in September, the analyst termed Vea's stock as "volatile," as the 6-foot-5, 332-pounder was receiving scouting reports ranging across the board. Apparently, the general consensus has begun to swing in Vea's favor. Pauline hears that the defensive lineman could potentially rise as high as the No. 8 overall pick and that he should be off the board in the mid-teens. He believes that Vea's "raw athleticism, talent and ability to develop into a multi-scheme, three-down defender" will ultimately sway NFL teams more than questions about his consistency.

Josh Rosen - QB - Bruins

UCLA junior QB Josh Rosen (concussion) said he wouldn't sit out a bowl game if UCLA qualifies for one.

"I mean, bowl games are just fun," Rosen said. "I like going out there with the guys and you’re in another city for a week and you have a good time." We've seen several star players -- most noticeably running backs Leonard Fournette and Christian McAffrey last year -- decide to skip the bowl experience, but it sounds like if UCLA is fortunate enough to play in a bowl game, the potential top-five selection will be on the field.

Sam Darnold - QB - Trojans

A longtime NFL executive told Yahoo Sports' Pete Thamel that he does not believe that USC redshirt sophomore QB Sam Darnold want to declare for the draft.

There's some armchair psychology going on here, of course, but this is not the first time we've heard echoes of this sentiment. The exec cites Darnold's wobbly season as reason why he might return. For all of Darnold's issues with turnovers early in the campaign, nine of his 11 interceptions on the year came in USC's first six games. He's been picked just twice over the last four contests. Should the redshirt sophomore opt to return to the Trojans, that could push quarterbacks such as Baker Mayfield, Mason Rudolph and Lamar Jackson up the board while additionally affording Josh Rosen and Josh Allen a higher chance of being the first quarterback selected in the spring.

Josh Allen - QB - Cowboys

An NFL area scout told Yahoo Sports' Pete Thamel that he "wouldn't be shocked" if Wyoming junior QB Josh Allen was the first quarterback selected in the spring draft.

"At the end of the season, (Sam) Darnold and (Josh) Rosen will have a chance to do it on a big stage. But if Allen was No. 1 [in April], I wouldn’t be shocked. They all have things they need to work on," the scout said. Allen's draft stock and potential slot will be an infinitely intriguing storyline to watch this winter into the spring. The 6-foot-5, 220-pounder has lost none of the physical attributes and tools which led to huge draft buzz over the offseason, but has largely struggled with the Cowboys this season. Allen has thrown for just 1,588 yards (55.4% completions) with a meager 12/6 TD/INT ratio. He's topped 235 yards passing in just one game this season. Five times in nine contests, he's been held under 200 yards through the air. Expect his draft evaluation to be an adventurous one.

Mark Andrews - TE - Sooners

NFL.com's Chad Reuter believes that Oklahoma redshirt junior TE Mark Andrews has the potential to make a Pro Bowl within the first three years of his NFL career.

Reuter refers to Andrews as a "match-up nightmare" and writes that the 6-foot-5, 245-pounder "has tight end size and receiver-like agility in the open field." Walter Football's Charlie Campbell ranks him as the No. 2 draft-eligible tight end for 2018, stamping the redshirt junior with a Day 2 (Rds. 2-3) grade. Andrews is currently in the midst of his most productive season to date. He owns a 39-701-4 receiving line on the year. Both the reception and yardage marks are the best of his career with three games left on the regular-season docket.

Drew Lock - QB - Tigers

Tennessee head coach Butch Jones believes Missouri junior QB Drew Lock "will play a long time on Sundays."

"He plays with great confidence. He has moxie. He has swagger," Jones told reporters. If we were to be negative we would add that Jones might not be the greatest judge of talent. But we would never do that. The one trait everyone brings up when discussing Lock is his quick release. He has thrown 21 touchdowns compared to two interceptions over the last five games.

Bradley Chubb - DL - Wolfpack

NFL Media's Daniel Jeremiah spoke with five NFL executives and three voted for NC State's Bradley Chubb as the draft's top edge rusher.

LSU's Arden Key received two votes. "I love his combination of size, quicks, power and relentlessness," one executive said. "He's in the backfield a lot ... go watch the Louisville game." Others praised Chubb's motor. It is uncommon for a senior to rank at the top of the list at this position, and we can only hope Chubb accepts an invite to the Senior Bowl. He's faced stiff competition, like Notre Dame and Clemson, so plenty of tape will be out there for evaluators.

Yes it is. That’s why we need to get Derwin James with our first pick. Other than Lamar Jackson, there’s no other player worth getting in the top 3:

Sorry Pozz, tempting but can’t afford to lose him. He’s the only viable receiving threat on my roster now. If i part ways with him i might as well kiss my playoffs dreams goodbye

Another dominant performance from Chubb. Multiple sacks, FF, TFL. Broke Mario Williams NC St. sack record. BALLER.

Nice call on Chubbs (Bingo too). Think I might've underestimated him.
