Yeah it can be pretty daunting at first, for sure.

Killed Uber Elder, Shaper, and Uber Atziri on my Molten Strike Juggernaut yesterday, I think I'm calling it quits on the league. I just don't have it in me to level another character and play through the story again.

If you play on PC and want some currency, let me know! Not counting my gear, I think I have 20+ exalted orbs and 1000+ chaos orbs.

That seems like a popular build this league and last. I so rarely play melee in any game; I'm 75% of the time a caster, and 25% an archer. I made a double strike duelist to start this league, but it was a bad build and I re-rolled to an arc witch, which I did (and didn't finish) last league. I want to try archer next as I haven't done it in PoE yet, but might try a melee. Who knows.

I think I'm good as I don't have expectations for Elder on my first time, but thanks for the offer! I'll let you know if I change my mind :P Right now I'm trying to mine Tabula Rasa from Channel maps and Blood Aqueducts. 1/3 of the way there.

Well you can use the currency for whatever you'd like! I have a Tabula you can have as well. All sorts of stuff.

Lol, yeah, I'm just being proud. I don't want to get OP, but I also know I have a really long way to go. I might take you up on your offer for a little help. It's like trading...except one-way :dontknow:

I have no idea how friends in this game work, but I'm on the DC Realm and can join pretty much whenever is convenient to you. I'd gladly take a Tabula off your hands :)

I don't know how far you are in terms of game time, but I'm well over 1000 hours on both V &VI. Civ along with the total war games are the greatest time drains in history.

Zelda is still going strong. Need to find 12 more shrines to the original 120. Then I think Champions Ballad adds more, so I'm waiting to start that afterwards. Got the last two divine beasts I was missing, purchased the dark armor from the monster shop, got all my gear to three stars (except Barbarian and Champion tunic). Feel like I'm running like a fine-tuned machine on this game after a year off. Happy I didn't start over.

This is my first go around with Civ. It's an incredibly engrossing experience, but it's definitely not the kind of game you can pick up for 30 minutes and put down. No matter what, you fall into the "just one more turn" pattern.

I'm in my first real game right now. I went through the tutorial and loaded up a couple false starts before stepping back and watching several hours worth of tutorials on YouTube that were much more helpful. I loaded up a Civ with Saladin and am about 270 turns in. I'm focusing on religious and scientific wins - but I've built up quite a military as well and in the midst of capturing a second capital that's been annoyingly trying to convert my cities to their religion.

Being able to buy troops with faith is pretty **** awesome, btw.

You’re playing on Switch, right? Any thoughts on the controls after sinking so many hours in?

So, my Switch is almost always docked and I rely on the Pro Controller. I say that because the touchscreen might actually help mimic the use of a mouse, which mitigates the clunkiness of using a gamepad to navigate the menus and the map. I do find it a bit burdensome at times to navigate the various menus, especially when you've got multiple things on a specific hex and you have to navigate through the menu to get to the unit/building you're looking to interact with.

It's definitely not impossible, though. Just takes a little patience. I actually think they did a decent job of trying to translate everything to the Switch. It's just not as easy as I imagine it would be on a computer.

In the market for a new gaming laptop, anyone have any recommendations? Battery life, size and budget aren't an issue. I was looking at Alienware and Razer but am open to suggestions.

I'm playing on easy and haven't tried any MP yet, but I like it a lot so far. If they ever beef up their VR missions it might be the game that convinces me to dive into that as well.

After a week I'm having an absolute blast. I'm taking my time with it, but the moment to moment dog fighting is so much **** fun. I play with headphones on and I often find myself yelling when a missile narrowly misses me or I pull up out of a dive bomb at the last moment.

Only quibble is I find myself replaying missions a fair amount. It hasn't been uncommon to play 10-15 minutes, fail a mission and have to start over. It's not terrible because the gameplay rules so much and I can tell I'm getting a lot better.

Progression seems pretty generous too. You can get a new plane every other mission you run and upgrade them with various weapons pretty quickly.

If you ever as a kid dreamed of being Maverick, this one is a super easy recommendation. I love it.

So development of Metroid Prime 4 just...restarted. So much for a 2019 release.

It's Retro again though, and they should be able to do it well (even though they did 3 which was not good). I think this is good news.

Since my company so rarely buys new computers I had to settle for a late 2015 iMac Retina 5K 3.3 Ghz i5 as an upgrade to a 2013 Powerbook. I've been playing around with it tonight (brought it home for the weekend so I can install some productivity software [STEAM games] on my much better internet) and I gotta say I'm surprised at home much I like it. Excellent built in speakers and my god the screen is really something. Looked on Every Mac and they're still going for $2100. I guess I believe it.

Bought the new Apple Watch tonight. I haven't bought a watch since like middle school and have been thinking about getting a watch for awhile now. Was trying to decide between a regular watch and the Apple Watch. Decided that all the convenience was worth the extra price. I'm excited about the heart rate monitoring and the EKG ability that it has. I have had some irregular heart beats in the past, so it will be nice that it can record those episodes and you can send them to the doctor.

I was thinking 2020 at the earliest, now it’s going to be 2023-ish most likely.

That said, it’s nice that Retro is involved and there’s rumor that there’s an HD trilogy pack of MP 1-3 coming soon, which would be a nice tide over.

My weird gaming thing is Metroidvania is my favorite genre and I've never played a single Metroid for more than five minutes.

Oh dope.

Kidding. Fiance lives by hers and the only reason I don't have one is I'm scared of what it'll tell me.
