This kid is a baller. I was somewhat worried the jumper wouldn't translate, but he is having himself a game.

I asked for examples of where college has made guys more marketable than they already were. don't worry about it though. we've moved on. and again every point you're making applies to lesser known guys that can use that stage to benefit them if that's what they're looking for. The point is valid in that regard, you just named the wrong guys as examples. Top guys names are what they are regardless.

as far the last paragraph anyone who watched any of those games watched because of the kids playing and the star power attached to them not because of the jerseys. which is my whole point.

I think you underrate the growth in popularity the NCAA can have for these guys as it pertains to their marketability and endorsement potential. A player's name can help an NCAA program with their overall notoriety for a season. That does NOT mean an NCAA program and the exposure routine television appearances can provide an athlete cannot help a player in a substantial way in return. Both things are true. Like I said in an edit above. It's not a coincidence that Zion's following nearly doubled while he was at Duke. That is a massive influx of potential marketing dollars that a season in obscurity at the G-League wouldn't have provided.
