Nice, though he is probably our backup pg as wollumbin is now our backup sg, and Machado isn't ready yet.

Apparently Morey has been following him for some time, I feel like we discussed this guy in the summer, anyway its says Houston was one of the teams he worked out during that time.

Trade coming soon?

Just the usual team options in year 2 & 3. I would think we'll just waive Machado. Still not quite sure why we signed him in the first place.

The Rockets are close to signing point guard Patrick Beverley, a person with knowledge of the move said Sunday.

Beverley, a former Arkansas player who has been to training camps with the Bulls and Heat, had been playing with Spartak St. Petersburg in Russia, but said he would be leaving the team to join the Rockets. The deal is not finalized or considered imminent, but will likely be for three seasons with teams options on the 2013-14 and 2014-15 seasons. The Rockets have not reached a decision on how they will open a roster spot though rookie point guard Scott Machado has a partially-guaranteed contract.

Beverley, 24, was the Eurocup MVP last season. He would likely initially be assigned to the Rio Grande Valley Vipers, according to the individual with knowledge of the Rockets’ thinking.

Beverly is a good player from what little I've seen. Certainly better than Machado. Wouldn't surprise me at all if he'd take over as the backup PG at the deadline and never lose his spot from there.

Any more news on Beverley? I can't find anything, but im beginning to think E was right might be a trade.
Douglas is an expiring im guessing they have no plans to resign him so just gonna cash out on him.

Damn I was really liking Wollumbin too. If he goes I hope they get rid of Cook too maybe Cole.

It was believed that Morey wanted him and Morey tends to get what he wants sooner or later

This roster confuses the crap out of me.
The only obvious spots I see for improvement are backup pg/sg, starting PF, backup C. So it's just our depth that's lacking? That's not possible... I like this team a lot, but what needs to change to make us contenders?

I have no idea...

How about a minor deal:

Patrick Patterson, Terrence Jones, Donatas Motiejunas and Scott Machado to PHOENIX
for Markieff Morris and Kendall Marshall?

Marshall has struggled so far in the NBA but still like his size and passing ability.
Markieff has gone from bench to starter back to bench but would be cool to see the twins play together on occasion. He can hit the 3 point shot like his bro too.

P-Pat needs to go see Grant Hill's ankle doctor in Phoenix.
Could see Motiejunas starting next to Gortat eventually.
Hate to lose TJ but this is essentially a 14th pick, an 18th pick and a 20th pick for two 13th overall picks.
Harden is still a work-in-progress. He can score, but he can't help his teammate that much - Yao Ming

I'd like to see markieff in houston. I'm guessing morey will be looking for a pf in free agency.

starting PG is a obvious improvement area.

I'd love to swap Lin for Teague or something like that and get able to bring Aldridge in.

Teague-Harden-Parsons-Aldridge-Asik
Douglas-Delfino-Morris-Patterson-Smith

That'd be pretty.

Pg is only an obvious area if Lin doesn't recapture last year's magic. He's looked like he's on that path recently. I've been fairly curious whether he started out the year still slightly injured or not yet recovered. His recent uptick would seem to allow for either that or the learning curve in the new system.

I don't really like LMA for this team.

Nah, it's really more simple than that, you're not contending with Lin as your starting PG.

Mario Chalmers, Derek Fisher, Tyronn Lue, etc. He's better than all of them. I'd say if he can recover to last year, he's slightly under Tony Parker.

I don't like LMA at all, really. I don't claim to know what kind of PF would work for us, but names that come to mind are Mandry, Ryan Anderson, Amir Johnson, Derrick Favors, and David Lee.
