I've been wondering this for the last few weeks. Why doesn't our team's training camp start today when we are clearly participating in an international preseason game?

Interested to see what moves we may make the rest of the season, but got to be something going on before the start of the season 19 guys?

Right off the bat you got to figure Daqueen Cook, Armon Johnson, and Christian Eyenga will be cut after camp or early in preseason bringing the roster down to 16. I think Cook was brought in to simulate Mo Harkless and Armon Johnson would stand in as our Ish Smith for Jacque Vaughn. Right after camp they are gone.
Magic may look to trade McRoberts expiring before start of season. Some of the articles I read after the trade say he may be bought out. Gusto Ayon is another one that could also get bought out with his recent requests. Leaves us with

SG Affalo/JJ Reddick/Q. Richardson
SF Hedo Turkoglu/Mo Harkless
PF Al Harrington/A. Nicholson/Justin Harper
C Glen Davis/N. Vucevic/Kyle O'Quinn

My thinking is that based on camp we may keep McRoberts and/or Ayon (if we drops his request for a buyout) and cut Justin Harper and Kyle O'Quinn instead. Now you got to figure that at least 3 of Al Harrington, Reddick, Davis get moved before or during NBA draft to free up more cap room as Magic plan to have immediate rebuild.

I hope either Harkless or Nicholson (or both) are the real deal. We've almost always had a reason to watch even when we were bad (Penny, TMac and I even loved watching Maggette develop back in the day).

Same here, I see him as the guy with the 2nd most potential on our team. Since Harkless won't be playing until later in the season, he'll be the one to watch imo.

IMO, Vooch is the most likely of our young guys to become successful. i think he's almost guaranteed to step in and put up Marc Gasol-like numbers.

IMO, Vooch is the most likely of our young guys to become successful. i think he's almost guaranteed to step in and put up Marc Gasol-like numbers.

Couldn't agree more. I actually recently went to check out Gasol's numbers since entering the league. In the limited minutes Vucevic got in Philly, he was able to average 5 and 5. While his actual game reminds me more of Pau Gasol, I don't think he'll be as productive as Pau was, averaging 20/10. But if he can have similar numbers as Marc Gasol, 15/9, it'll make the infamous trade look a little better. He has the offensive game to score, but I think his biggest mission of this season will be learning defense and rebounding.
