Grizz moving up was good for us after the Lakers jumped into the top 4. NOP getting #1 was good for us because it means there's nobody out there to trade #1 for AD.

Besides us hating the Lakers and they got a marginally better pick than they should have, this was a very good night for us.

There it is, you’ve sussed it. Those of us not ready to give up on the dream live to dream another 6 weeks or so.

Uh, the Knicks were tied with the highest odds for No. 1. Them getting No. 3 is fantastic for us and is close to worst-case scenario for them.

So, 2 things in my opinion..

1. If Kyrie leaves Boston (which every sports person says he is), AD is going to NY or LA. Both have top 4 picks.

2. While some say this may convince AD to stay, I feel the exact opposite. I think getting Zion makes NO more comfortable moving AD. They now have a replacement. They have a star to build around. Griffin is a smart dude. The best way to get Zion to grow and develop is to build a young team around him, and slowly build.

I know you’ll disagree with all of this, but time will tell. Just my takes.

None of what you said changes the fact that this was a great lottery for the Celtics. The Knicks had the best odds for No. 1. They ended up third. Not sure how you're not seeing this.

Zion is left-handed, too.
I love lefties. They're a commodity in this league.

You’ll have to forgive Celtics fans for talking about tonight’s draft lottery results on a Celtics forum which you disdain yet moderate?

Please explain. Yes I moderate, however I am still a person who can post. I am just questioning the ledge jumpers of a lottery which the Celtics had no really good shot of a miracle. The fact that NY and LA didn't get the #1 is a win and nobody really wanted the Memphis pick this year. Not sure what to complain about.

Obviously lakers having a top 4 pick was huge for them but like I said before....they got Zion. Does number 4 trump Tatum? then most likely brown and multiple picks....I think and if I’m blind optimist then tell me but I think a Zion Tatum combo beats any Zion + laker young player combo and Ingram is an uncertainty

Why are we even trading for Davis at this point if Kyrie leaves? Sounds like a foregone conclusion he’s out.

Boston will not trade for AD if Kyrie is not signed long term. Makes zero sense. Move Tatum for a year of AD? AD isn’t sticking around to play with a worse team than Kyrie just left.

It’s all about who New Orleans Values more. Tatum or #4

With Ingram having a blood clot. Theirs a chance his career could be done if it’s a recurring issue. So their current best assets value has plummeted.

When Davis is traded to the lakers you will i was right.

Cool story.

This lottery is huge for Rozier. He won't have to compete with Zion for touches in NY.

The draft order doesn’t prevent a trade for AD, it just increases the price now. Now Danny has to offer the farm. Lakers jumping up ruined everything. Oh well, life isn’t fair...

Lakers are in a great spot but Pels seem hell bent on not making a deal with them. Plus Ingram’s blood clots.

He's wrong on the bad points. The pick was expected to be 14, so how is that a bad thing? It wasn't the best case scenario, but by no means bad. The Kings making the playoffs would have been bad. Lakers at #4 is irrelevant and no way AD stays to wait for Zion to work into his prime 3-4 years down the road.

Still kinda suprised Shams said the Knicks would trade Zion for Davis. And then Woj said they wouldn't lol.

As for Zion...best of luck to this dude. I hope he kills it.

Can people please stop acting like Dennis Smith Jr. will be some key piece in AD trade talks? That's like saying Rozier would be a huge asset in a potential AD deal. Smith is essentially a worse version of Rozier with chronic knee problems. He stinks. There is a reason why the Mavericks couldn't get rid of him fast enough.

Ah — you meant this specific outcome and I took it more generally. I think it takes some time to process, especially when the stakes are high and involve our oldest rivals, and a board is a good place to hash it out.
