I could honestly care less, there's a caveat in every championship. It's not our problem that their key players are injured. Believe me they wouldn't care if they're hoisting up the trophy and Lowry / Gasol were out.

GSW have benefited greatly over the years from other teams injuries

Kawhi gets injured in 2017 (on a dirty play).

CP3 gets injured last year.

GSW were losing both series at the time.

I believe.

We have nothing to lose and everything to gain. Kawhi will genuinely establish himself in the GOAT conversation this series.

Everytime you watch TNT or NBATv all the former players are saying "yeah that's def an achilles tear" and not a calf strain. He won't even play this series.

Forgive my ignorance...but is there any footage of KD since the alleged achilles/calf strain injury?

Durant himself mentioned in an interview (search YouTube) that it felt different from other injuries.

He also mentioned how it felt like someone kicked him from behind and then mentions the same thing being said from Kobe and??

Probably being downplayed because he's a free agent.

While the US Media whines, the History Books will always remember the Raptors as Champions, that's all that would matter.

Great timing to have terrible storms before Game 1... hard to showcase the City with awful weather sigh.

one-way superstar Curry has no excuses but to win the FINALS MVP while resting on Danny Green..no excuses.
This is such a favorable matchup for us, without KD out there...Easier than Magic, Sixers, Bucks

where do you have Magic or Oscar Robertson?

Magic is 1st, doubt anybody will surpass him. He didn't have the size disadvantage that ultimately plagues every PG, even Curry at times.

I'm biased against older players like Robertson, I can't really rate him. Wilt is the only player from that era that somewhat impresses me, and even in his case, I have my doubts.

Yeah, that's fair... I agree on that. I just think both were generational players

another one was against Memphis. Gasol and them had them under control up 2-1 but then Tony Allen gets injured (changing the entire series)

If Kawhi wasn't talking to anyone over the season.. then all he knows is what he has in Toronto. He can take a bunch of meetings, but those could all be empty promises - he knows what he's getting here, and that's huge.

So Drake really does have a Steph Curry and KD tattoo.

I’ve pretty much defended this guy for everything but that’s pretty cringe-worthy regardless of who he is.

Yeah, I didn't want to bring that up how we've been in pretty tight games vs them... we'll just have to take it one game at a time.

I like their summary. It's a little old but it's fair and non-biased.

Hey guys, please help out with a good cause by a simple click. TSN Ottawa's web poll on what you're more excited about the NBA finals or the Stanley Cup finals? Poll is on the right side of the screen down the middle of the page.

These broadcasters talk hockey 24/7 so I want to stick it to them! Just look at the bloody page, it's flooded with hockey crap and even their biased poll has a picture of the Stanley Cup!

Note: as of time of posting the NBA is up 55% - 45%. Let's raise that bar a bit thanks!

TronoWrappers wrote:Couldn't agree more regarding Draymond. Some teams sag off him expecting to bait him into shooting 3's. He's not going to do that, he's too smart and knows his limitations. You have to treat him like Rondo or Simmons: pressure him and make him uncomfortable so he can't make the easy pass.

From my armchair position, I would start the series out like this:

Lowry/Siakam - Iguadala
Green - Steph
Kawhi - Draymond
Siakam/Lowry - Klay
Gasol - Cousins/Bogut

I can see Iggy taking advantage of Lowry on the offensive rebounds so swapping him with Siakam would help nullify that. Really worried about Gasol switching onto Curry in the PnR, Nurse is going to have to get creative there.

The Curry/Klay/Iggy matchups might need a bit of trial and error to figure out. I think the main considerations are 1) challenging Curry in the P&R and 2) the ability to stay with Klay off the ball.

I think a key with guarding Curry is to not get caught up in him being the best shooter of all time where you over commit to trying to prevent 3s. You have to guard him the way you would any point guard that is a serious 3 point threat but can also score driving the ball. If you try too hard to prevent him from shooting 3s you are going to compromise your defense and Curry is excellent at taking advantage of that; moreover, he makes well defended 3s at an above average clip so taking him from a 40% chance of making it to 37% isn't worth the risk of giving up a 100% open layup or dunk.

What we will need to do is throw a lot of defensive looks at Curry to be unpredictable. That would help limit Gasol getting switched onto Curry with any regularity. Fortunately we have shown that we can defend the P&R in a variety of ways, which is a credit to Nurse as he practiced them in the regular season.

Klay takes the most shots off screens in the league and is one of the best at making them. During these playoffs we have had to face a few guys who are very good at shooting coming off screens - Ross and Fournier with Orlando and JJ Redick with the Sixers. Hopefully that will give the team some insights into how best to defend someone like Klay. I think he has more size (height and wt) than any of those other guys which might mean someone like Lowry or Fred chasing him isn't going to work very well, but who knows.

Meanwhile, on others I still see the narrative that the Warriors would have needed Kevin Durant against the Bucks, but against the Raptors, they dont need Durant, perhaps dont need Igoudala or Cousins either to beat the Raptors. #ProveEm

1300 for 3 hours...ehhh i love toronto sports but not that much. jurasssic park would probably be a great substitute.
Hoping on a plane and traveling to a new country is on my mind right now.

I agree with you.

It's not worth 3 hours.
