Nothing wrong with having a different opinion - as long as it's done respectfully. It'd be lame if we all agreed on everything :)

No. They made the Wiggins trade last year to get under the tax to avoid the repeater this year. They will almost certainly move Oubre this summer to avoid it next year

Oubre is a UFA.

Ahhh that's right. They will simply let him walk

GSW are $30 mil. over the tax with 12 guys on the roster with a potential top 5 pick and a late lottery pick to add. They are definitely not getting under the tax.
And no, they weren't under the tax this season either.

So maybe we have the first team willing to pay the repeater in NBA history. The repeater DOUBLES their already MASSIVE tax bill. For an 8 seed

I don't think it kicks in until next year--and even then only if they don't make moves to get under the tax:

They are over the tax with just Curry, Klay, Wiggins and Dray. I don't think there's a move out there short of completely blowing up the team that gets them below the tax.

Are they an 8 seed though if Klay is back? I'm not sure when he's due back but it would seem if you added Klay to this roster they'd be significantly better.

No one's seen Klay play basketball in two years. Who knows what he is now.

Joe Lacob (previous C's minority owner) has increased the value of the Warriors, while winning three championships, by more than 10x since he became the lead owner (with a 25% share) in 2010. The team value is up from $450M to an estimated $4.7B in that time. He is also a longtime major VC partner. My guess is they retool for another legit championship run--though they could also try to dump Wiggins, etc.

FWIW, I don't think management actually WILL fire Brad Stevens. I think they SHOULD. That's actually the biggest reason that Danny should also be fired IMO.

Wyc loves Danny. Danny loves Brad. They all love our guys. So we'll shuffle the deck, swap a Tristan Thompson or a Marcus Smart for some other rotation player and see what happens. Who will next year's Jeff Teague be? I'll be waiting with bated breath...

What do you mean viable? A hundred coaches can replace Stevens. Stevens has a dozen assistants for Christ's sake. He can be replaced. It's not working.

James Posey, 100% serious

now that we've made the playoffs though, I fully expect Brad to be back. Hope the team gets its health and mojo back!

making the playoffs as the 7th seed should be seen as falling far short of our goal this season. But hey, if Brad can help us get past the overwhelming favorite Nets then he'll cement his status as "Celtics coach until he doesn't want to be anymore."

Flopping out of the playoffs was the only scenario in which we might have possibly parted ways with him this summer, unless there are issues we don't know about, like JT thinking the world is flat and JB asking Brad what his definition of "government" is.
