Lillard never discussed the Heat as his number 1 option. He said he would like to play with Bam or Bridges who he's both friends with. Reports last year for Durant listed Suns and Heat as his preferred destinations but never did I see him say the Suns number 1 unless through back channel reports that came out later. Point is the best offer won. Conversations last year almost read exactly the same as they do this year. "All Durant_____insert Dame this year has to say is Miami" and just like that they'll take Herro, picks, and throw ins but it doesn't work out that way. The best offer is going to win and right now I would have to say BK has that. What's Dame going to say once BK and Blazers agree? He's going to call his bud Bridges a scrub and not worthy of going after he opened his mouth up about playing with him in BK?

And this is the thing, players have to make it clear where they want to be. Jimmy did it, he declared his intentions were Miami and thats why he is here. Donovan Mitchell’s goofy ass talking about he “thought” he was going to land in Miami meanwhile he never declared this was his desired destination. KD another one, as you said never declared Miami. If Bam is this good recruiter that everyone says he is, he needs to tell Dame he has to declare he wants to play in Miami. If its going to be just another ambiguous list of preferred destinations people here need to prepare to be outbid by more attractive packages.

He Clearly says "Miami Obviously" to the question if traded which one of these teams wouldn't be too bad. Then says "Bam is my dawg" finishes the sandwich and reiterates with "Miami is the obvious one" of the teams he has a preference on. I don't see him coming here but to say he hasn't called us his favorite is not correct.

How can you say that with a straight face after all the luck we had on our playoff run? That happened less than two weeks ago.

For some time, Brooklyn Nets star Mikal Bridges has had a fan in Damian Lillard of the Portland Trail Blazers.

Lillard most recently expressed his affinity for the emerging star during an appearance on ‘Stephen A’s World’ on ESPN with Stephen A. Smith during the Chicago Bulls’ win over the Toronto Raptors on April 12.

“Like players,” Lillard asked in clarification when asked who he is a fan of in today’s NBA. “I love Mikal Bridges.”

I can’t believe you all are doubting The Godfather and his ability to get **** done. This is his whale, this is exactly what he has been waiting for. He didn’t want to send a single asset for Beal because he wants a full cupboard ready to send for Dame if needed.

Dame has been begging to play with a Bam type player since Team USA, now he can play with the real thing. Bam is the main reason he wants to be here.

Let The Godfather cook!!

I think like most on here we need to toe the line kind of in the middle. Deep down the truth is closer to the middle than either outliers or world is collapsing narratives. We a fundamentally flawed team, that does certain things well, and come playoff time they excel, with good coaching and great two way players who are built for the combat that is a seven game series. We also on the other end are lacking scoring talent, and depth in key positions which makes our winning that much harder. We also have a propensity to catch fire from the 3 in some playoff runs that go against what we did in the regular season which makes the team hard to gage. However we can never asume we will always be ok, because our team is expected to grind to their death and Spo to get every ounce of willpower out of their guys. At some point if we want to take that actual step in holding an NBA trophy we need to be truthful, it requires a bit more. Exactly what that bit is, nobody here would know better than the staff working for the Heat. However I feel like they would never come out and tell us exactly how much they need, theyll keep saying we have enough, and then theyll back it up by getting right back deep into the playoff run.

If Brooklyn has the better offer there's no way he's turning it down or making waves.

Bridges is gonna be James Harden post leaving OKC.

The Suns really traded a decade of growth for a 2 year peak with KD / Beal against the current Western conference is never gonna not be funny to me.

The sky is falling! Miami has the worst assets, players, contract, coaches, FO, cap situation, location, fans, etc. we’re doomed! This is legit what some of y’all are starting to sound like any time someone mentions a trade, it could be for fuxkin TJ McConnell and someone is going to nitpick it and have a long explanation of why it won’t work.

Let **** play out, we have assets, we have expirings, we have elite players guys want to play with and we have a desirable location/culture.

Jimmy Butler was a free agent and therefore had leverage to pick his destination. Philly could either sign and trade him to his choice of destination, or he could sign somewhere on his own and Philly would get nothing for it. Philly chose Josh Richardson over nothing.

There is no amount of noise that Dame could make to manufacture that sort of leverage. He's under contract for at least 3 more years and almost certainly 4. He can hold his breath and threaten to retire and he still wouldn't have a fraction of the leverage Jimmy had.

• In talks with teams, the Rockets have maintained their stance that they aren’t looking to trade anyone from their core — including top-five picks in Jalen Green and Jabari Smith Jr. and lottery picks Alperen Şengün and Tari Eason. Elsewhere, there has been interest in 22-year-old forward Kenyon Martin Jr., sources say, with his combination of age and upside still intriguing to rival NBA teams and deemed attainable internally for the right price.

If Lillard wants to win a championship and his answer to that is to go to the Nets, an organization that has never won a championship and hasn’t even been in position to win a championship in over 20 years now, then he played his self and sold out on his “loyalty” to end up doing the same **** he was doing in Portland

Wait wait, werent you advocating for Pat to retire? You have to stick to one of your guns. Do you trust the old f art to come out with a miracle or not?
