Maxey hit the shot. You’re scenario would’ve been an And-1

The foul would have happened on Embiid before he took the shot and not on his attempt so no it wouldn't have been an and1. Yet we aren't talking about fouling right then, foul on the inbound catch so it wouldn't have even gotten that far.

Again, this would then force a FT battle, because fouling with little time going off the clock and then they do it the same way, then once more maybe then the last dozen or so seconds have run off but the team needs to hit the FTs which they already missed two.

Not miss those two before it and this doesn't happen.

The NBA enacted a new rule on off-the-ball fouls—personal fouls against an offensive player who neither has the ball nor is trying to obtain it. On such fouls within the last two minutes of the game or in overtime, the offensive team is awarded the usual number of free throws and then possession of the ball.

So since Deuce trying to get the ball as he's getting screened in the action it's not away from the ball then that doesn't apply, you realize that, right?

It was a blunder by the players but like I said, learning experience. Maxey got hot and made some wild shots. We'll be more in the right headspace these next two games. Been awhile since we've been in a proper dogfight.

Sloppy TOs, missed FTs, an and1 with a couple of wild made shots plus some end game mismanagement all had to happen just right for the game to get tied....just as lucky as game 2, now it's the next game to focus on.

I’ve been watching this team for 30 years
They’ll always find a way to choke
But the hope always brings you back, year after year.
We aren’t supposed to win the finals or even make it out the east.
But for one night. Just one night in the last 25 years, the Knicks better give me a damn gamer this Thursday night. It’s been so damn long of winning a series when it matters. This one matters. Go get this damn W.

Another thing - OG got fouled on that breakaway dunk and didn't he miss one of the free throws? That was a momentum killer. We were cooking then and then it only ended up being one point instead of electric city. Oh wellsky.

We missed a lot of important FT (e.g. Josh Hart, Brunson). And this is the first game that they beat us on the boards.

16-24 from the line...
they out rebounded us by 6 rebounds at home--that is unacceptable!
Maxey went 7-12 from three!!! unacceptable!
Oubre and Tobias combined for 33 points unacceptable!

This is not on one player or 2 or 3...

WE CHOKED AS A TEAM!

Maxey had a game for the ages. Once he hit that shot to go into OT, I knew we were finished. He wasn’t letting that team lose. Props to him for doing what we did in G2 and snatch victory from the jaws of defeat.

Now, it’s on us to go back to Wells Fargo and take G6. We can’t keep getting off to slow starts and expecting to find and claw to a lead. Something has to change because it’s been like that for every game.

4/20 from 3 from Donte, Deuce and Hart is so disgusting.

Maxey had a few 50 point games this season. Shouldn’t be surprised that he’s having this coming out party in this series. We don’t really have anyone that can keep up with him except MAYBE Deuce. And even he was getting cooked today. He was having one of those nights.

And tbh, I’m surprised Nurse didn’t try running the offense through Maxey sooner with Embiid. Feels like he’s been the tougher cover this series.

this has nothing to do with Maxey as a player...when you hold the entire nba to that many points- you are an elite defensive team and you cant have the #1/#2 guy go 7-12 from 3...5-12 we win the game...and its not just that - I listed the rest...I dont like the way we've played at home.

And we are the better rebounding team and we can not let them win that battle...
