With Houston acquiring Phoenix’s picks and Brooklyn getting their pick back from Houston this off-season alone, it shows the value of teams desperately wanting their picks back. LAC 2028 unprotected and LAC swap rights in 2029 back to the Clippers should trump anything GS has to offer if PG opts in and Morey feels compelled to pull the trigger anyway on a trade offer.

Dejounte is a dreadful basketball player to me. Him and Zion are an atrocious fit together.

It’s interesting because both Trae and Zion wanted to play together, but it was repeatedly reported that New Orleans wanted Murray instead.

We shouldn’t give up assets for Paul George if so, just don’t get him. We have the cap space to get him. We have to overwhelm him with cash.

Pels trade away a center. Two FRP’s and Reed for Ingram?

The problem is his decision to opt out or not is the day before we are legally allowed to overwhelm him with cash, and at that point, I suspect it’s between us and Orlando.

Hawks weren’t interested in taking on Ingram long-term, as predicted.

I think it leaves Cleveland, Sacramento, and us as Ingram suitors.

I'm not a Dejounte fan, but that's good value for New Orleans. I like his fit there.

Actually, I take it back, I like the value more Atlanta now that more details are out from Woj. That Lakers pick might be in the lottery and Dyson Daniels is a nice fit with Trae.

Full trade appears to be
To ATL: 2025 Lakers 1st, 2027 Bucks/Pelicans 1st (whichever if the worse of the two), Larry Nance Jr, Dyson Daniels(#8 pick in 2022)
To NOP: Dejounte Murray

I forget the rule - can we trade McCain’s rights immediately or does he have to be signed?

It’s needed b/c of salary cap. I think we’re one of 2/3 teams under the cap who can take on salaries without having to match.

I would think he could be traded at any time there were some trades on draft night

I certainly hope we don't trade McCain. With that said, I think Atlanta got the better end of this deal with Daniels and the two firsts. Dyson Daniels was the 8th pick in the draft just two years ago and he's going to be pretty good. Murray is a win now piece for the Pels and they can play him with McCollum in the backcourt. I'm not so sure that this signals Ingram being moved. In fact, I think it's quite the opposite. I think they keep Ingram and in doing so will have a very nice starting five.

The other side to this is the value that NO gave up to get Murray. My question is this. Is Murray in the same tier as Brandon Ingram? Like in terms of skill, impact, etc? Are they in the same tier? To me they are. So if they are and NO gave up what they gave up to get Murray, then what are we looking at in terms of getting Ingram? Obviously, 2 FRDPs, Paul Reed would definitely go as well, but what else because that's clearly not enough? Or would our salary cap availability come into play here?

You may have just answered my question. So we CAN use salary cap to make trades? Ok.
