Funny how people hate on Rivers because hes score first SG. What about Lillard as a score first PG? Oh hes gonna be the next Westbrook...

Lillard has legit speed and athleticism though, more so than Rivers, Bayless, or a Mo' Williams. I read that he also possesses above average length (6'9''), but we'll know more after the combine. The thing I'll say about Rivers, is that he can score in the paint, from what I've seen. That's essential for us, and I think Lillard will able to do the same. One of the things about Bayless that kind of frustrates me about his game, is that he can't finish consistently. He'll draw fouls, but what happens when he doesn't get the whistle? It ends up being a wild layup attempt. Lillard gives me more hope in that regard, because he's explosive, has greater length, so one would think that he'll able to use his athleticism to his advantage & be able to finish, kind of like Jeff Teague of Atlanta.

Umm Lillard is way more efficient, has better finishing ability, better defender and a good rebounder. Rivers has straight tunnel vision and he had a better supporting cast than Lillard did. Lillard had to score for his team to win games. Unlike Rivers Lillard can play well without the ball because he moves well making cuts and comes of screens really well. Couple that with his quickness and dribble penetration he's already a couple spots ahead of Rivers. I still believe Rivers is a shooting guard instead of a lead guard.

I'm still not sold on Lillard. Sure he was more efficient but he played inferior competition and he is a senior (redshirt 1 year). Not a single person has said Lillard is a good player maker who can get create shots for teammates not himself. I wonder what a Senior Rivers would have put up on Webber State. Not saying I'm a big Rivers fan myself..

For example, Lillard vs California (Pac 10)
14 Points on 4-17 shooting

I know its one game but still..Skeptical Hippo is Skeptical

Miller may be it depends on how much he'll recover from the ACL injury but he's not explosive enough to really create of the dribble. He's got pretty good playmaking skills and can knock down the three. His defense also questionable due not having the greatest instincts but also from the ACL injury. Lillard is both quick and explosive off the dribble, rebounds well for his size and can dish the ball. He's a scoring PG but unlike other scoring PG he's efficient from both 2FGs and 3FGs. He's also a 90% FT shooter and gets to the line 8 times a game in college. He's got good tools to be a good defender at the PG position, he's got a 6'9 wingspan coupled with his athleticism and quicks.

Both will end up being good players. I think Lillard has a better chance of being more than a role player.

I don’t think Lillard will be a role player at all and agree with DG’s assesment. But QMiller, had he stayed an extra year, we’d get a better idea of his game and how it would transistion to the NBA. I’ve watched most of Baylors game this year and still don’t know if he has what it takes to be a solid starter. He shows flashes of brilliance, I really think he should’ve stayed an extra year and made a bigger name for himself rather than let his highschool dominance be why hes drafted so high. As it stands today, a day before the draft lottery. Lamb>PJ III > Lillard. Depending on the way BC wants to make a splash on the free agent market and what Casey likes, he’ll make the right pick. I am probably one of the few who’d be thrilled to have Lillard on this team. And those who have said before this draft is weak, its beginning to look very solid. Obviously right now it doesn’t look like its loaded with superstars, but it definitely has impact players which can turn into allstars.

I'm a Miller fan who wouldn't be opposed to drafting him. But the truth is, the ACL injury is still bothering him. As much as I'm glad he came out this year and can get some professional help and coaching, it would have been better for him to stay an extra year and have an established role.

I have been (and still am) a huge QMiller supporter but no I wouldn't draft him in the top 8.

He just has yet to look like he's fully recouperated from his ACL injury. All his speed just looks like its gone and really I'm not sure if it's coming back. I would of thought after 8+ months or so we would see him back on solid legs but that isn't the case at all. He looks like a slo mo version of himself like Grant Hill after he shattered his knee.

Maybe he will eventually get back to the point in the next 6-12 months but I am not gambling that with my 8th overall...I rather bank on something more certain like Lamb and if not Sullinger and then trade down to acquire a couple of picks (and Quincy would be one of them --- but alone is too much to ask at this point).

His shooting mechanics are so off....he angles his body and has a funny tweak at the release. Love his hustle and intangibles but man he's gotta improve his form.

I know. His mechanics makes you want to lock him in a gym and rebuild it..
Although I like his hustle as well I still don't think he's a good fit for what this team lacks from the wing position. I'm not seeing what I want to see from him, which is ball the ability to create and for some reason I thought he was a bit more athletic :-?. A solid jump shot is not the hardest thing in the world to get. If he's there at 8 you take him and run for the hills tho lol

Apparently Drummond has food poisoning, and was given a truncated workout. Shame, he really could have boosted his stock there, Ford is still giving him the "big upside" label.

the way that he shoots is asking to blocked 10 times out of 10

definitely, but Ford seems to be the guy that hypes everyone up to no end, so this was one of the better chances he would have had to raise his stock. Still think he's a lock for top 5, don't know if I want the Raptors to go anywhere near him.

yeah ford is the hype man ahahah , and about drummond if we move up to the tope 3 i dont want to be taking him i'd rather look at davis/t-rob/beal/mkg and if we get our 8th pick as its projected than drummond should be gone by then.

The only way I see MKG getting his shot blocked is if his pick up was slow which is the motion from where he catches the ball/raises his elbow and prepares to release. He usually catches the ball around his midsection before shooting. If he caught the ball below his hips, then I could see him not getting his shot off on time. How he angles his body or releases the ball from the left when he shoots right has no effect on the defender altering his shot, at least from what I've observed and experienced.
Basketball is like poetry in motion, cross the guy to the left, take him back to the right, he's fallin back, then just J right in his face. Then you look at him and say, "What?" - Jesus Shuttlesworth

That jumper is hideous lol

He's never going to have serious range unless he takes that hitch out of his shot. He shoots it while coming down.
