Im convinced fultz has mutant healing factor. i saw a potential horrific injury where his center landed on the back of fultz's ankle while he was laying on the ground. I thought he broke his ankle or tore his achilles, couldnt put weight on it and he was carried into the locker room. it looked like a horrific injury.

he played the next game

Hopefully it is contagious.

Did everyone forget about the 4th quarter vs Utah? Dude took over the game and accounted for like almost every point the team had in the entire quarter either scoring or via assist. Dropped 23/5/5 and that's with at least 5 assists left on the court with bricks from trash players. Fultz is a stud.

Not that you had to watch summer league to form an opinion, anyone who saw him at Washington realized this.

I dont agree if you think Fultz is a negative player. But I think he needs to play with more impact on court. Like grabbing boards and trying to get guys easy baskets in transition.

reminds me of Washington, where he holds the ball and makes some nice shots...but he doesnt make anything easier for anyone else, and has no impact without the ball ...so it leads people to believe that his "teammates suck"

Washington was 0-6 without him, 9-16 with him. Teammates were bad... Narratives to the contrary are ridiculous.

oh i agree..the team was bad...the team was really bad w/o him and it was also bad with him. Lot of games werent even competitve and from what I remember they even lost to Yale

I think Fultz can become a very good NBA player, but his lack of a motor and lack of overall passion is somewhat of a cause for concern. It often seems like he's not all that enthused while playing...almost like he'd rather be elsewhere. Also, I'm a bit worried about his lack of explosiveness as he seems to have trouble getting by defenders, ends up settling for a jumper, and doesn't seem to attack the basket strong on drive (he goes up really weak, imo).

If I'm BC, I'd make sure Fultz is put on a strict diet and gets in better condition. If you look at his game film from high school and college, he seems to have a lower bodyfat level than he has now.

As someone who is very critical of Fultz as I am, I think people are reading too much into his lack of motor. That's just his look and demeanor. I already know he's going to drive Philly fans crazy and they will be calling up the stations saying he looks like he doesn't care. Everyone has differnt looks and demenors. Everyone just needs to accept he will always have the same expression as droopy dog. That's just him. Take a look for yourself.

I realize that's his demeanor, but I'm not sure if you want a guy like that running the point for your team long term. A PG needs to be a vocal leader who gets others excited to play and i don't think Fultz is cut out for that. He should be viewed as primarily a 2G who can play some PG if necessary.

So you mean exactly what he's going to be for our team?

He just turned 19 years old and is likely going to be third fiddle to Embiid and Simmons. We suddenly have a lot of leadership on our team with them available and even JJ, Fultz can grow into it.

I think one of the biggest misconceptions is that players will struggle to learn how to be off ball coming from college to the NBA. I'd rather have a guy who can score at will with the ball in his hand (Fultz, Tatum) and have to learn how to be off ball than an off ball player learning how to be elite with the ball in his hands... at least in a top 5 pick that's being selected for scoring.

The whole demeanor thing, in general, is so overblown in sports. The natural expressions on people's faces are almost entirely genetically expressed through biochemical pathways, and really have nothing to do with how motivated a person is. The kid was motivated enough to surpass almost 10 players from his high school class to become the #1 player in the draft. People need to stop equating natural outward demeanor with motivation/drive because there's no basis to it.

this is clear bullsh****. the huskies were garbage, and there was no clear second option on that team. all the big men were trash who played no defense. their best defensive player was a senior who was their center, missed 11 games too.

FWIW: I think Fultz is going to be rocking #4 for the season.

I think it is to early to compare him to anyone. I prefer to let him be who he turns out to be. my concern is still the same as I stated after I first saw him play. it has nothing to do with his expression it is about his intensity level. he shows that he has a lot of talent and with a good group with structure I believe he will learn. with that being said, 76er's will have to be very patient. he just doesn't have a clue yet what he will be up against. there is a reason why only a select few ever make it in he nba. I just hope the starting group will be and stay healthy long enough to become what we all hope they can be. go 76er's. on a positive note I can surely say he is a better defensive player than ball. he is just awful and will get killed by nba pgs

It's retired for dolph schayes, they retired it while nerlens was still here, he was allowed to wear it but no one else will.

oh ok. Thought I read between the line in a JJ Redick interview where he said he thought #4 was available but its not, or reasons that will be announced later.

Yeah I assume he got confused by Nerlens wearing it.

Really it's weird how they retired Schayes' number like 50 years after he retired.

I just get a Wiggins-like vibe with Fultz. I always ask the question if you aren't scoring what else are you doing to help the team? And even if you are scoring what else are you doing? Fultz can score. His defense is substandard. He hasn't rebounded great but he's a guard so I don't think that's a big deal. He has had some nice passes but he's nothing like Ball passing the ball. Ball passes people open. Fultz passes just to pass or if his shot is taken away. I wonder if he has the worst +/- in Summer League.

Simmons passes well. He plays adequate defense too. He also rebounds well.
Embiid plays great defense and rebounds.
Covington plays great defense.
Saric rebounds and brings toughness
Redick plays good team defense.

What does Fultz do well other than score? Think about that.
