Itd be an opt-in-and-trade, similar to Chris Paul:SmartWentCrazy wrote:
Basically, Horford and KD agree to an opt-in-and-trade:
Bos sends: Horford and Brown
GS sends: Durant
Kerr gushed over Horford and he would be a perfect fit for them at the 5 post-Boogie. Jaylen Brown gives them a nice piece to build long-term. This gives them two solid pieces for a player who’d elsewise be leaving.
Second deal:
Bos sends: Hayward, Tatum and as many first as needed
NO sends: AD
Boston rolls with a Kyrie-Smart-KD-AD core with as many ring chasing vets as needed.
Swing big, Danny—lets get this **** done. Maybe this is KG part two, only KD is our ‘Ray Allen’ move.
So KD opts in, then the GSW trades him for Horford or Hayward with possible other assets (draft pick?).
I think the Kyrie thing has just pretty much been sour here all year. Since the Knicks moved Porzi and suddenly could take on Kyrie and KD (and even maybe AD!?!), that likely changes Kyrie's perspective dramatically (hence the not so seemly celebration with Dad at MSG on Friday) and thus KD's interest likely also shifting--though they want to keep backup bidders going if they can, too. Dark horse competitor? The Clips, with Danny possibly even greasing the skids to keep them out West by shipping Kyrie to Doc.
