Re: 2025 General Draft Discussion 2
Kon makes sense on a playoff team he's a guy who can start or come off the bench and fit in as a role player. He's gonna get exposed on a lesser team with not much talent. Unfortunately we don't fit with Kon at this moment. It would be a bad pick on our end not because he's not good, but he's not good enough to raise the talent level of our team. We need someone who has star potential and high ceiling. Only Ace and VJ fit that category imo.

Drafting Kon tells me our FO has way too much faith in our current core.
Look i Iove Melo, Miller, Mark. That is a good strong core in a vaccum, but they can't stay on the court and have noticeable holes in their game that aren't guaranteed to develop, specially on the defensive end.
This franchise isn't a roleplayer "connective piece" away from upward progress. We are still in the "collect as much talent as possible and figure out the rest later" phase
Your Charlotte Hornets! We’ll eventually get something right;right?

I kind of have a feeling Tre Johnson will go 3rd if the Ace drop is real.

I will be happy as long as we don't pick VJ or Kon or some random riser like Salaün.

I think he will be a good pro, but we just need something more than Kon. He is skilled but lacks upside. Tre, ace, have all-star potential. I don't see a path for Kon. I wouldn't hate the pick like last year, where I raged out on here, but I would just be underwhelmed.

What is something that would make you lose your mind on draft night? For anyone reading this. Mine would be if Ace goes 3 and we don't take VJ but Kon or Maluach instead. I would be cool with Tre and maybe Fears, but not the Dukies.

Flemming and Sorber, I've seen mocked in those areas, if they seem more like teens' picks, I would go with Raynaud and Clayton

I’m team anyone but Kon. I’d rather draft a bust than a role player ceiling guy. Worst case scenario

I feel you, man. Kon screams 11 through 18 type of talent to me.

My ideal draft is we somehow luck into VJ and end up moving back into the first with our 2nds for Flemming, Sorber, or Raynaud.

Maluach would be the worst case scenario. If we actually took him I think it would be the worst pick possible. I’d genuinely rather pick 25 other players before him.
Salaun 2.0. I would check out of watching Hornets basketball for the next few years quite honestly.

Maluach would legitimately be the worst case scenario.

Yeah he's far worse than Kon. That would be an absolute disaster.

Re: 2025 General Draft Discussion 2
the more I think about it the more I'm like just take the player you like best at 4 and call it a day. trading down seems like galaxy brain overthinking and this current group heading player acquisition hasn't shown anything in particular that makes me think they could outsmart a trade partner, or even get the right players.
I like Ace Bailey and Tre Johnson the best. VJ Edgecombe looks like he has talent, but I don't immediately see how all his talents will manifest in the NBA in a way that makes him an impact starter. and I don't know that we can count on significant development with where the Hornets are right now.
