Whats done is done. I honestly think the deals aren't that bad. Yeah I would've wanted paul or melo but that was a pipe dream.

It sucks to lose peaches and gortat but i'm a fan of JJ and Bass.

I was a VC hater, but I did like Lewis. But We'll have to see how things workout.

without looking at who's coming in, we didn't trade our "hustle & heart" core of this team:

Jameer
JJ
Bass
D12

That alone makes me like the trades.

And for those of you wanting jrich just for vc... hahaha. We added gortat to get richardson, hedo was just an addin. No way PHX would have traded jrich for vc straight up.

I still think this is the reason Hedo is back

We get it. You don't like the trades. However, to say that multiple teams would have given us something better for Gortat is completely baseless and pure opinion. Also, have you seen next year's draft class outside of the lottery? It's a complete joke. The draft pick is nothing. Earl Clark is a better prospect than anyone we could have drafted with our late 1st round pick.

We can still sign a backup center. Time to relax.

I'm just curious.... how is Daniel Orton doing in the D-League?

Hedo is the second best player in the deal. Richardson is the centerpiece. I really don't see how you can overlook him. Pietrus is having problems this year and Dwight may have wanted him gone. Gortat is valuable, but he hasn't lit it up this year and his value isn't as high as it was last year. Plus, he barely even plays for us. Hedo will give us a ton more production.

Good center that is still raw. Will impress at times. Struggles against good centers (ex: Bogut) but plays well against mediocre centers guarding him. Known to have butterfingers. Takes charges without flopping. Can shoot a 10 foot jumper. Should improve with more playing time.

a double double, polish hammer dunks on the fast break. solid defense. I think Gortat will either thrive or be average at best..but he is a good center capable of starting. Nash will make Gortat into what CP3 made Tyson Chandler.

Excellent point. We really didn't lose anybody who will significantly hurt us. The production VC and Shard gave us will easily be replaced. The main problem is a backup at center now.

Gortat's an above average center in the league who can definitely start on some teams. He can finish around the basket and works hard. Occasionally will have defensive lapses, but he's been steadily improving.

With all of this firepower, I sure hope Jameer becomes even more pass-oriented.

On another note, J-Rich is going to have to come down from his 15.6 FGA/G. Same for Arenas and his 15.7 FGA/G.

Thanks. We've been starting Earl Barron for half of the season. Gortat should be quite the upgrade. Jrich is balling this year. He can go off for 20 every night. Hedo has been clutch when it counts. Clark is still raw. He was never given a fair chance to play here.
Good deal for both sides I think.

I think Philly bites on Orton for Battie.

great point... duhon has got to go though... for a big (such as a backup C or a bruiser PF)

DJRajX wrote:Sure nothing is perfect with the deal and the players involved, but what's done is done... and we gotta root for them and hope they play well for us

And honestly, something had to be done... could there have been a better deal involved? Yes... but this is what we're stuck with and we have to make the best of it... and honestly, we weren't going anywhere with Carter and Lewis anyways, so it's time reload and to go for broke with Arenas, Turk, and J-Rich

I'll root for them of course. But the team panicked, as well as the fans. Struggling, yet still have a 16-9 record. Knicks are having an "amazing" season and are 16-11. Just imagine how many games we would have won if we righted the ship. Now we have to acclimate four new players (I expect Clark will have to play given our backup C problem) who aren't strong defensively. Not smart, not smart at all.

The only good thing about the Phoenix trade is that I still have Turkoglu jersey, but seriously Phoenix would trade Hedo for expirings easily.

Q,Pietrus,Duhon for Hedo
Smart / Micic / D. Wright
Wiggins / Exum / J. Adams
Parker / K. Anderson / Mcdermott
Randle / Vonleh / Stokes
Embiid / Nurkic/ Tavares

Return to Orlando Magic
