Knicks emerge as front runners for Jamal Crawford?

If coaching staff sees Bibby as backup, is Toney really the one who gets traded for Crawford? Are they that certain Barea can come and start? Do they have that much faith in Iman? Or are they going full (Please Use More Appropriate Word) and putting Crawford at PG?

FWIW that spanish radio station is reporting Barea will be a Knick.

We are probably trying to complete the Crawford deal before we officially sign J.J.

I think everyone is forgetting how stagnant our offense was last year. We would rely on Melo and Amare for 90% of our offense, and if they were out of the game or not clicking, we would fall behind, and lose leads. Crawford is a much needed #3 option offensively, and will give us some much needed fire power. We need someone who can handle the ball, and create his own shot. Douglas had a ton of trouble with getting the ball up the court, and making plays for his teammates. Crawford has great handles, can get up the court with ease, and give us a playmaking presence on the offensive end. Him and Shumpert/FIelds would work great together in the backcourt. I'm all for this. He is a perfect fit right now.

I love how all of a sudden Douglas is such a must keep when everyone in the universe wanted him gone after the playoffs. The Knicks have NO Sixth Man. Every contending team in the NBA has a sixth man. Dallas, Miami, Chicago, Atlanta, etc.

Crawford is the top Sixth man in the NBA. It is a no brainer.

I'd take Crawford off the bench if we don't give up Shump or Fields and if we are able to get a starting point guard somehow. Barea/Bibby =/= starting point guards. I'd happily have Barea off the bench, but not starting.

YOu guys do realize that we only have 2 guys that average double figures right? The rest of our rotation is: Chandler, TD, Fields, Walker, Shumpert, Jeffries and maybe Bibby. Who exactly do you have confidence can start scoring 15 ppg from that bunch? Getting a 3rd scorer and depth is a necessity. We need Crawford here.

You are comparing a losing team to a team with stars and a championship building roster? That has zero zero zero credibility. If you don't like him, judge him on his days with Atlanta. Not New York.

i've watched him on atlanta, he played the exact same way as he did here. they just handled him better then we did. when he was hot they let him go. when he missed a couple shots in a row, right to the bench. that's how you have to treat him.

Listen Im not a big fan of Douglas OR Crawford, but I dont think its debateable that Jamal is the better overall player. We needed more scoring when we had Billups last year, and now that hes gone we have no reliable 3rd option at all. The dropoff after Melo/Amare is huge. Are you ready to trust Douglas and Fields to carry the load?

Those are preason stats, I know I made the same mistake the other day, I forgot which player I was looking up but their preseason stats were horrible I was like wtf?!?!

Jamal would be our own Jason Terry. Nothing more, nothing less here. It opens up more minutes for Shumpert and gives us more size because Douglas at SG isn't going to work, Douglas at PG against Rondo, Rose isn't going to work.
