17.

But if you watched the game, pretty much all 17 were quite good shots, werent they? Like you really really want your player to shoot these type of shots. Another day he might score 13 out of those 17

well the first two shots should have went in, but they somehow managed to roll out of the basket. But he really needs to work on his shot selection in this eurobasket, he looked better last year in world cup

Shows for me:

Jv 15pts, 7reb, 2 blocks, 2 steals in 22min. And he was very limited by his own fouls (questionable imo). He played better than his statline looks

Yea, can't blame his shot selection at all. He must a lot of high percentage shots so be it.

I still wish he wouldn't hesitate taking a short jumper. He had the opportunity at least twice.

and a really nice assist as well (two, but one was fouled and the player didn't make a basket)

Maybe I'm being overly pessimistic here but I'm still really worried about JV's defense.

Canada doesent have broadcasting rights for anything other than hockey. Which is why I watch ESPN, American and European channels on my Roku Box. Internet for everything else.

Sad to see such a close game against Ukraine, don't see us getting to the top4 this year.. :(

I was just looking at the boxscore and Ukraine only had 4 threes for the whole game, and the only player who hit more than one was their PG with 3, so I really don't understand the criticism.

This was the moment:
62-59
04:25 I. Zaytsev - 3pt jump shot made (7 Pts)

62-63
03:29 M. Korniyenko - 2pt tip-in made(8 Pts)
03:32 I. Zaytsev - 3pt jump shot missed
M. Korniyenko - offensive rebound (5 REB)

Zaytsev was the one JV had to defend, but he left him completely open at 3pt line two attacks in a row, was benched after that.

The box score shows him being 1-3 from 3.

EDIT: Oh you are giving him grief for shots that didn't even go in? Now I understand.

His footwork looks improved here in terms of post scoring. Outside of that he looks like the same exact player as last season.

JV's direct opponent shot twice from three undefended. There were no plays ran for him. Just just went to the 3 point line , but JV camped in the 3s zone.

Watching the game and even looking at the highlights, I think he's lighter on his feet from an obvious standpoint at least.

He has a better jump as well, I don't know if he can do a second jump for an OR around .25 as well as last year and the dunk on .45 covered more ground as his agility is probably back.
"I definitely knew he traveled, but I didn't know they were going to call it. That was one of them situations in which a great player made a move...and they called the call. And I was like, 'Oh, man, there is a God.'
