KP looking extremely fatigued and anemic out there tonight. I'm just glad we were able to get a player the caliber of Dennis Smith Jr out of him before his body broke down.

KP isn't even on a level where he should be considered a league wide prospect.
We knock roughly a third of the league was talked to at some point in time about KP in an actual trade discussion even dating back to Phil.
Now league execs were baffled and caught by surprise? Nah. KP wasn't that hot of a commodity. Still aint.
So he’s just making up that other teams who weren’t contacted said this? That’s your reasoning?
He was and most def is good enough to be a league wide prospect. And even if you didn’t think so, why is that an excuse to not do your due diligence?? You want the best deal possible and you don’t know what that is till you see all the offers.
I've already stated this. We have actual evidence of what the Knicks reportedly were after. For an exec to say "they were unaware" really falls on them and not the Knicks because there is plenty of evidence that the Knicks when putting KP out there as a trade piece reportedly did contact several teams that had high end prospect and picks.
Boston.....this one was public even when Phil was here and likely got fired over it, and that was roughly three years ago. So these unnamed execs didn't know? How do we know and they don't?
Spurs knew as well and was reportedly interested back in 2018, something reportedly as well the Knicks took offense to.
Kings, Phx Utah had prospects the Knicks were interested in. Simple googling validates this. But these other execs didn't know? Ok.
Similar reports came out even when Phil was here. Every team doesn't have top drafts and or good young prospects and can provide cap space at the same time.
And no, KP wasn't a league-wide prospect then and isnt now. Productive sure, but I doubt seriously every team in the league would want KP and would have traded their best player for him, because that was what the Knicks were asking for along with cap space and picks. The evidence is there. It's fine if you choose to ignore it as those execs clearly have done.
But as I've stated in a previous post in another topic. Knicks have recent history on accommodating their players that want to leave into sending them to a location the player has some desire to.
Melo and KP being the forefront, but it happened as well with Tyson.
You’re justification for them not opening to the bidding is a former exec was looking to trade him 2 years before so the whole league knew he was available 2 years later under a different regime? The same regime that made it clear he was a part of the future?
If this is the type of logic you want to use, then we’ll agree to disagree.
All 29 teams would have called in. What you’ve seen the last stretch is why.

This happens every time Porzingis has a hot stretch. Maybe this is real? Most likely it's not. He's a Tier B player until he proves otherwise and he still has long term health concerns. It is what it is. Wish Dennis panned out but he didn't. No point in crying over spilled milk. Leon hopefully will be more baseline competent than past regimes.

I'd have long term concerns over a Mitch and KP pairing defensively. But yeah sure it would be solid. I'm just not sold on KP as a long term number 1 and I don't think he's raised his value around the league since we dealt him. We still wouldn't be bale to get Fox, Mitchell, AD with him as trade bait today

He's having a statistically worse season compared to his last year in NY coming off a major leg injury at 7'3" and you think he's raised his value?
He's also aged 2 more years since then and is getting paid a max deal. If anything his value is worse.

His value was lower with us because he was coming off a major injury and their were questions about what kinda impact he can make coming off that injury

Who is KP? I don’t remember who he is! I have been too busy watching RJ Barrett develop as an NBA player.

RJ would be further along if he was playing next to KP.
