Kid had a good game, but he needs to be humbled. He’s never had a coach who haws kept him accountable for knuckleheaded plays.

The funniest moment was the Mavs bench screaming at the defense to contest him at the three point line right before he drained his final three.

Everyone said the shot was broken and I bought into that label. The shot looked busted and reminded me of MKG. I was 100% against drafting him. I started to change my tune when James Borrego declared it workable.

The early scouting reports were to dare him to shoot and to give him space so he doesn't break down the defense and open up passing lanes from inside the arc.

It's early and Ball can still regress but I think this game earned him more than a few easy layups and sweet assists when teams inevitably tighten up to meet him at the arc.

If you were calling him a bust there's still time to walk it back. LaMelo should be one of those players like Doncic where fans from other teams enjoy watching him and feel entertained when he plays.

First time I've watched him and have to say he looked really nice for a rookie, and not just the great shooting night.
Haven't seen Edwards yet but this draft might end up being pretty solid despite expectations.

The kid is talented. He is an artist of basketball.
He has to improve in some aspects and he will, he is very young

Watching him is like playing a My player in NBA2k. His motor is wild.. speedy, tall, long, and lanky. He tries super hard on rebounds just like you would in My Player, but he gets pushed around for it. Haha. Someone with his body should have no right to grab those rebounds but he was successful this game. This kid is fun once he fills out hopefully.

He's gonna be a star, the Hornets just look like a competent team when he's on the floor even when he's not scoring. He moves the ball, which is really the most surprising thing about him to be honest.

I’ve liked most of what I’ve seen from LaMelo, people are too hard on a 19 year old who has barely been coached. Excited to see him develop as a player, the potential has always been obvious.

I'm saying they're going to try to give him the award 10 games in because ESPN is terribad like that.
