Re: 2021 Draft thread
If Rosas can pull off getting a late first or early second for one of Culver/Okogie/Juancho he needs to take a flyer on BJ Boston.

Re: 2021 Draft thread
Just something I noticed, but Rosas and co. haven't selected any juniors or seniors. Everyone they've drafted or signed as UDFA have been either freshmen or sophomores.
Might be a coincidence, might be that they prefer potential over experience. Which does line up with a more analytical view of drafting.

Re: 2021 Draft thread
Might be just idea of trying to hit a home run vs a double on the picks. Or it might just be the way their evaluation align. Tough to say two drafts in, but is interesting to think about.

The pure analytical models I've seen over the years all tend to favour youth over experience, so I do think that's probably what's going on given how numbers based they've claimed to be.
It's especially interesting to me since it would knock out a few of the guys I thought we should target, namely Dosunmu and Ayayi.

Re: 2021 Draft thread
One thing that our wolves have never had (at least in recent memory) that almost every team does have is a lob-catching big. I think it's time we start mining prospects to get one. The nice thing is that these somewhat one-dimensional players aren't always valued in drafts, and in some cases, can even be found after the draft (undrafted FA's). Just having the "threat" of a player who can set screens, roll hard to the hoop and finish is something teams just don't have to defend against us. If we force them to do that, it would open up the floor even more for everyone. Below is a list of late 2nd rounders or possibly undrafted FA's who we could target this summer:
Jerrico Simms (my #1 choice by far) - https://nbadraftroom.com/jericho-sims/
Greg Brown (he's falling down draft boards) - https://nbadraftroom.com/p/greg-brown/
Neemias Queta - https://nbadraftroom.com/p/neemias-queta/
Charles Bassey - https://nbadraftroom.com/p/charles-bassey/
Makur Maker - https://nbadraftroom.com/p/makur-maker/
Odds are not all of those players are drafted, so I'd be in touch with all of them to let them know that they are a high priority for the wolves in case they don't get picked. Thoughts on importance of adding such a player and also if you know of others that might be added to this list?

This is the type of player I thought should have been our second 2wp, so I 100% agree.

I feel like this is the kind of player, especially in today's league, that is a dime a dozen. If we really wanted someone like this we could probably find a handful in FA right now.

Trey Murphy. Virginia.
Still need a veteran defender, but Murphy seems like a capable NBA guy. Lanky & slighly huskier version of McD?

That's what you would think, but in fact, there aren't many at all in free agency. Lists below...
https://www.spotrac.com/nba/free-agents/power-forward/
https://www.spotrac.com/nba/free-agents/center/
Dewayne Dedmon is 32 but he'd be an option. Whiteside? Surprisingly there aren't a lot of vertical athletes that fit that mold, my guess is that might change in the future...

Yep. Jerrico Sims is the guy. Perfect fit.

Is he from MN? I always root for local guys, Tyus was my favorite player. Jerrico Sims can be developed in mobile version of DeAndre Jordan, ideally Clint Capella-lite

I remember seeing him last year when I was watching Pat Williams and thinking "did that 300 pounder just go coast to coast?"
I'd take a flier on him for sure. He's not ready, far from it, but stick him in the G League for a year or two and he'd be an interesting piece off the bench.

He sure is. He's from S. Mpls. He went to the local Cristo Rey Jesuit private school here.
The other guy I like as well is Usman Garuba. He could be a monster.

Re: 2021 Draft thread
I am not sure how high up the draft board he will go but I think this should be the only guy we target in the drat.
Trey Murphy III
[urlhttp://nbadraftroom.com/trey-murphy-iii/][/url]
6'9 with long arms and is the best shooter in the draft. I think he is a true 3 and D SF/PF that we need. If we could move Culver/Okogie for him I would be all onboard. This guy was a 50/40/90 shooter you pair that with his size. This could be our Duncan Robinson with better size or Cameron Johnson.
Watch the highlights and the quickness in his catch and shoot release plus his on the board defense. To be honest if we had the 7th I would probably be asking us to him anyways. I am not sure if he is a lottery pick yet. But it shouldn't cost us to much to move into the 15-22 area of the draft.

If I was picking.
But Rosas comes in with a good scouting background, and he’s succeeded on 5 of 6 out of the draft (if we count Naz).
This seems like more of a lost opportunity, where other teams may leave talent on the board this season that could be selected with lower worse picks, for better value.
