I like Harris as a backend starter, but his star salary prevents you from getting better pieces to compensate for his short comings. He is a really good nba player though. The guy must work really hard on his game looking at his development throughout his career. Elton with his miscalculation of Tobias’s expected production was the ultimate villain here.

I don’t think Minnesota would trade McDaniels. I think they see him & Edwards as the foundation their building in out there.

If we wanted to maintain flexibility and be competitive this year, but likely gain no draft picks beyond second rounders:

Philly Out to Minnesota:

Harden

Philly in from Minnesota:

Mike Conley - expiring deal
Kyle Anderson - expiring deal, but I would extend him if we moved Harris.
McDaniels - The better of the McDaniels brothers, expiring deal, but might have RFA rights.

All of their FRP’s are owed to Utah, but if Conley might bring a pick at the deadline.

Not advocating for that trade, though sending Harden to Minnesota is a meme of its own, but they are a team desperate to be relevant and I like Anderson and McDaniels as possible keepers next summer.

Jaden McDaniels seems like a really good long term piece.

I can't see Minnesota trading Towns for 3 firsts when they traded 4 for Gobert last summer. They're all in with this squad. Sadly for them.

Towns next team will be the Knicks, he is just the kind of player they are waiting for (they want Embiid of course, but Towns is way more likely). The Knicks will drop that boatload of picks they have to Minny once Towns becomes available, likely next summer.

That was before all the details of the new CBA though. Lots of smoke surrounding KAT's availability, and with the big extension they just gave to Ant, I imagine they're trying to get off KAT's money starting next year.

KAT is gonna be a trade deadline move if it happens this year. His market is at an all time low after last season so I think you need to let him remind teams of his value to start the year.

The thing is... even if this lack of activity means Morey is expecting a Clippers deal, that still isn't good for Sixers fans because it essentially means you're going to be accepting one of the least exciting, difference-making options available. And maybe it is the best deal the Sixers can ultimately get, but I don't think anyone can argue rationally that the Sixers minus Harden and plus Powell and Morris has them anywhere close to contention next season.

So it's like "Yay, we got more depth, finally!"

"Damn, next season is a pause year though, no point in even watching, really"

Maxey/Springer/Beverly
Melton/Powell
Mann/Batum
Tobias/Roco
Embiid/Reed/Petrusev

If we are going to say a lineup like that has no shot at the title, then I think we need to admit that we’ll never win in the Embiid era.

This is the year to build a deep team around Embiid & challenge him to be better. We’ll give him defenders, shooters, length, athleticism, etc. After that, it’s up to him to elevate his game in the playoffs. If we have this team & an Embiid averaging 35/10 on good efficiency in the playoffs, then we could absolutely win the title.

Rather keep harden. He is the best PG and best player available. That clippers trade is trash. Focus on Kelly oubre of 8-11 per .

Who knows. If he screws around this year, he could very well be looking at a Westbrook-like value tank around the league. It happens fast. He should want to be on his best behavior if he wants a decent deal next summer.

The Sixers have no obligation to trade him there.

Cool, but that's why he picked up the option. Not because he wants to be in Philadelphia. Houston was the only team with space that he wanted to sign with, and only picked up the option when it became clear they weren't going to give him the deal he was looking for.

Meh, not only Houston, the other teams didnt want him with a big contract.

He picked the option because he wanted his money. And then cry that I want to go to the Clippers with my money.

That team would be fine and comparable to the talent the Nuggets had on their roster last year. People would rather chase names than hold Embiid accountable.
always a jump shot away.
