wonder if something like this could work. This is assuming ATLs Dwight Howard plans fail.

To TOR: Courtney Lee + Josh Smith (S&T)
To BOS: Andrea Bargnani
To ATL: Demar Derozan + Dj White (waived) + Shavilk Randolph

For ATL - both White & Randolph are fully unguaranteed until August 1st 2013. So this would let ATL cut them and only take Derozans salary. They do this to get Demar and still have the cap space to go out and sign a guy like Jefferson, Bynum, etc and put Horford at PF. Teague/Derozan/SF/Horford/C is a pretty interesting group

For BOS - Bargnani has one less year than Courtney Lee so the money is equal when you factor in the extra year at 5.675 million. Ainge said he wants to build around Rondo, now whether thats true or not remains to be seen but i do think they would be a good duo together and they arent really risking anything in this deal. Money is equal, taking a chance on Bargnani to see if he ups his value and become a decent trade piece.

Toronto gets Josh Smith and a guy like Lee who can start at SG, provide spacing & defense until Ross is ready to jump in. Smith is good friends with Rudy Gay and i really think the team below would be a pretty interesting team to watch. I do believe we could take out NYK and give a lot of teams problems.

Kyle Lowry / Eric Maynor (signed via MLE) / PG (vet)
Courtney Lee / Terrence Ross
Rudy Gay / Landry Fields
Josh Smith / Amir Johnson / Quincy Acy
Jonas Val / Aaron Gray / C (vet)

we would use the MLE and sign a backup PG like Eric Maynor as i suggested. I think thats an interesting team.

I'd prefer to keep Stew and give Monte Morris
I'd really prefer to keep Morris and Stew and give the great Killian Hayes and 2nd round picks

I think even unprotected we should do that deal

is there a possible deal for Vasquez? Not sure of his salary, but he would be an option at the 1.

Good size, good pick and roll PG with an efficient game

I still think the Pelicans are looking to move Gordon for a health upgrade at the two;
Moving Gordon alone was likely not too appealing to some clubs, moving him with Vasquez who is on the last year of a rookie deal and is an RFA may sweeten the pot a little.

Yep. DD + LF! Or LK.

I like DD,
I think he represents the city well, but him and Gay are far too similar.
If the Pelicans took DeRozan and either Fields/Kleiza for Gordon and Vasquez I would be pretty hard-pressed to turn that down.

Just blow up this team and start a proper rebuild! Who cares if we get poor value back.

They would have to love LF, or we would need to send them max trade cash with LK- still cheaper than paying him $4.6 to go away.

To add to my proposal on the Fan590 they were talking about how Boston needs a now piece to sell tickets but a guy who could also be a future piece as well. I think Bargnani for the minimal risk they take could be that. Rondo would do wonders for him

I honestly would not be surprised to see Rondo moved this year.

His old team and old coach are gone.

They would be able to get a LOT in return for him when healthy.

Val + DD + Ross + 2014 pick to UTA for Derrick Favors and Gordon Hayward.

Deal fixes our core with 2 young prospects with upside.

Lowry
Hayward
Gay
Amir
Favors

I would never do that, rather have Val than either DF or Hayward.

Easily, DD is better than Hayward, and JV/Favors is a wash except JV is a legit C while Favors is a PF.

Simple trade

Atlanta gets Andrea Bargnani

Toronto gets Lou Williams

Basically Hedo for Barbosa 2.0. Atlanta has more capspace than they'll be able to spend without overpaying mediocrity, so adding 6-7 mil each of the next two seasons isn't a killer for them to take a chance on Bargs in a new situation, as stretch 4 beside Horford.
It's going to be a glorious day... I feel my luck could change

I have very good idea:

Raps sent DD and Andrea for Memphis Zach Randolph and one more player. Amnesty Kleiza. And sign free agent SG for example Ellis, or try sign Evans or Kevin Martin.

PG Lowry
SG Ellis
SF Gay
PF Randolph
C Jonas

Bench: Back up PG, Ross, Fields, Amyr, Acy and Gray. Very good team. One of three best in the East

Types of moves we should be making if we were truly rebuilding.

* DeMar DeRozan / Landry Fields ----> Clippers ----> Eric Bledsoe / Caron Butler / Reggie Bullock

* Rudy Gay ----> Pelicans ----> Austin Rivers / Pelicans 2014 2nd Round Pick

* Andrea Bargnani / Kyle Lowry / Linas Kleiza ----> Knicks ----> Amar'e Stoudemire / 2014 Knicks 1st Pick
(Top 3 Protected)

* Buy-out Amar'e Stoudemire's contract

G. Bledsoe / Rivers
G. Ross / Bullock
F. Butler
F. Johnson / Acy
C. Valanciunas / Gray

The first one makes potential sense, but do you think the Pelicans are going to absorb $14 million in net salary? They just absorbed JRue Holiday's new contract, rest assured they would have to send out of a lot of salary to even think of this.

And how much of a cut do you expect Amare to take? Really, a waste Lowry's asset value. Also, they owe their 2014 draft pick to Denver.

Thanks for clarifying Dagger.

The fact that the Pelicans are already absorbing Holiday's contract escaped me. Would have to recalculate the difference in the salaries they'd have to send back. I think with the Sixers owning the Pelicans' pick next year, the Pelicans will go all in trying to make the playoffs. Small Forward seems to be their position of need right now and if Gay doesn't fit there, he becomes an expiring contract the following year giving them flexibility.

Regarding the Knicks trade: Didn't realize the Knicks owed the Nuggets that pick - renders the trade suggestion obsolete.
