A lot of us were begging for Lowry to rest his elbow, a recommended treatment for elbow bursitis, for an extended period of time before the playoffs started. But no, gotta win those meaningless games.

Sorry for anything crazy I said in the GT earlier. Fan frustration and alcohol got the best of me. Also recall yelling several profanities at Casey from my seats.

I looked at 3 man lineups to try and find trends. Of lineups that played 10 minutes together (random number), there were 19 and here are some numbers i found.

http://stats.nba.com/team/#!/1610612761/lineups/advanced/?sort=NET_RATING&dir=1&Season=2015-16&SeasonType=Playoffs&DateFrom=05%2F03%2F2016&GroupQuantity=3&CF=MIN*G*9

# of lineups appeared in --- postitive lineups in --- negative lineups in --- % of lineups positive

Lowry,Kyle 10 5 5 50.00%
Powell,Norman 6 3 3 50.00%
Valanciunas,Jonas 9 3 6 33.33%
Carroll,DeMarre 6 3 3 50.00%
DeRozan,DeMar 9 3 6 33.33%
Joseph,Cory 5 2 3 40.00%
Ross,Terrence 6 1 5 16.67%
Patterson,Patrick 3 0 3 0.00%
Biyombo,Bismack 3 0 3 0.00%

Quick Note - One lineup was only a negative 0.1 which was Lowry, Carroll and Val

Biz and Patterson played really bad. Of our 4 worst offensive lineups, 3 had them both, and the 4th had Biz.

Ross gave us some good shooting but of these 19 lineups, 6 had DRTGs above 100 and 5 of them included Ross. The only one that didnt was Biz/Pat/Cory.

Our two best defensive lineups with the Lowry/Cory pair

Our best lineup was Val/Cory/Kyle, with Kyle/Cory/Demar in second (probably the same 4 man unit)

Our 3 most used lineups tonight were Kyle/Demar/Carroll/Valanciunas with either Cory Norman or Ross playing the 5th spot.
With Cory we had a +13.7NRTG, with Norman it was +1.2, and with Ross it was -46.3

Did that guy look anything like OakleyDoakley?

He was going for a Raptor Viking sort of look on the night, so I'm inclined to say yes.

Boardbreaker wrote:FOR THE LOVE OF GOD CAN WE STOP GIVING DEMAR THE BALL AT THE END OF EVERY QUARTER

Do you like him better at the start of quarters? Overtime was eerily similar to the the start of the 4th quarter in game 7--three empty possessions with no ball movement and hardly anyone but DD touching the ball. Either we are scripting it this way or someone refuses to listen. We had the sense to immediately sit Demar down after that display of selfishness the other night.

If Kyle can't play PG why are we asking Demar to create our offense from stand still? What's the point in playing him off the ball when he can't shoot? It's time to roll out Delon and to stage a leadership coup of you ask me. Whoever is writing the game plan is dreaming wildly in technicolor.

well if Lowry has a elbow bursitis it is no joke because it is an infection on the inside which causes swelling and discomfort, i had it myself 3 years ago and my elbow needed to be cut open in order to clean out everything and then it took approx. 6 weeks to heal - anibiotics without cleaning it only help conditionally depending if you know exactly the type of bacteria - so for me it is difficult to understand if he has a bursitis ( maybe a minor one) how he can even play at a half decent level

It's clear that our coaches have tried to replicate their style of play with constant off-ball screen and dribble hand offs. Our team's offense wouldn't be any better with another coach because of our player's egos. Keep in mind the only reason we won that series against the Pacers is because of our team defense, which I assume is a result of DC's coaching.

it's okay man you don't have to explain it to him, half the board doesn't even watch games. The only issue we are having is noone is attacking off the catch which is what the spurs do. we run pin downs, screening off ball, screening on ball, handoffs etc but noone uses these to their advantage

'The only difference is...' 'The only issue is...' and everything that follows is what is the huge difference between the Spurs and the Raptors. A girls high school basketball team can say it runs a Spurs O, too, doesn't mean the execution is there, and if it isn't, then it's not like the Spurs, is it? We keep reverting to the same habits on O, so it's not really running the plays, is it? And I most certainly disagree that a different coach would not get better results. A rebuilding far less talented Pacers just took us to 7 games with George and pylons led by Vogel, 7 games that featured a high screen and roll and refusing to give it to the open man. I've watched the Spurs for many many years. Pop has changed his schemes with the players and times and match-ups. We're running with who and what we've got come hell or high water. Don't think for a second that isn't also on the coach as well as on the players. If they're not running what he wants, why are they still out there? Either you're arguing they're flat out ignoring him, or they are doing what they're supposed to. Pick your poison. But please don't compare it to the antidote to bad basketball that is the Spurs.

They run good plays, but they don't execute properly. Pops has said many times that he is lucky to have players that are mature and that buy into his system. Pops obviously has a gift that many coaches in this league don't have--that being charisma. I don't know what Casey says to these guys in practice when it comes to offense, but I can imagine that he isn't telling Demar to go off the pin-down and dribble the ball 30 feet out for the ISO. I would definitely argue that at least Demar ignores his opinions on offense, but I don't know if that's because of Demar's maturity issues or Casey's inability to convince players to buy into his system. I can say for sure that this team would be better if Demar was more deceptive off the plays and used them the way they were meant to be used, and he should be mature enough and professional enough to see that. I never said Casey was an amazing coach. He obviously isn't doing a good job at gaining their respect from an offensive standpoint, but I also think that is an extremely difficult thing to do if you don't have intelligent and mature players.

Amazing people think its coaching. COACHING is what is keeping us in these games and in the playoffs.

DD has played average at best. Lowry over the past 5 games is LITERALLY at D-Level. You could get the same production from the worst PG in this league. That is how bad he is. When your best player is playing at D-level, it is amazing we had a chance to win this game.

Preach. Coaching didn't lose this great game.

Coaching matters when Casey isn't starting Joseph over Lowry.

Lowry needs to play against other bench units to bring his confidence back up. Joseph is shooting nearly 60% in the playoffs, he needs to be starting.

Charles and Kenny said the same thing on Inside the NBA too.

We really need to find some consistent offensive weapons in the offseason replacing Scola, 2Pat, JJ, Ross, Biz, and Demar if we don't resign him; this season offense is dog crap!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!; Sign Barnes and Horford if Demar walks

Every "offensive weapon" that comes here will become a chucker.

Does anyone have any suggestions on our starting lineup for Game 2? We were being hammered on the boards in Game 1.
