The Celtics are going to end up tanking. I bet Brown bails with an “injury” at some point.

I happen to look up if Celts own their own picks. From what it looks like to me, they own their own for the next 3 three years and five of the next six years. ITs crazy they were able to build that team and do all the trades and moves they did and still have all their own picks. Most good teams have picks tied up everywhere.

Also, my player comp or who VJ reminded me of watching those highlights was Tatum.

Damon Jones takes me back to the ESPN board and early RealGM days. A very polarizing player in 03-04, lol. I have that team poster in my basement, haha!

And this could get real ugly for the NBA. Can they survive credibility if this tracks back to in-game results being affected especially with the Donaghy stuff not THAT long ago.

There may be a Lebron angle too with Damon Jones being his personal coach and Jones had info ahesd of time that Lebron wasnt going to play against us in 2023.

Wow.

Leaving a game with an injury should void the bet.

Something like that will certainly be coming. Maybe "must play at least 30 minutes or NO ACTION" or similar. But this Pandora's Box is wide open now, and I think the things that crawl out of it are going to bite the NBA in the ass.

You guys know em all.

The real story is how David Stern could get wind of problems and solve them behind the scenes before law enforcement stepped in.

Adam Silver - not so much.

Then again Stern never had a Pablo Torre to deal with.

Stern was competent. The league survived the Donaghy scandal because he successfully convinced everyone it was an isolated incident. Zero chance Silver is gonna be able to steer the narrative with both the Aspiration stuff and now what looks to be the biggest betting scandal in modern American sports even if he was competent (and he's not). I'm not putting money on it (heh), but maybe this gets so bad to where the league needs a fall guy and Silver just ends up resigning so we can get a more proactive and professional commish to clean this whole mess up and save the sport.

I mean we are already wary of the fix from 2001 and add in this (pending how deep it gets) + Giannis’ eventually departure; Bucks may enter some pretty dark days.

Welcome back to Portland Dame and welcome to Portland Jrue.

We all know the timing of this is pretty convenient.

He is really good if he can stay healthy but it amazes me that he gets a better whistle than Giannis. (Heck the Spurs as a group) Also crazy how the NBA clearly doesn't care about carrying, walking, moving screens, and so many other basics.

Damon Jones. The only professional PG to back their defender down from the opposing three point line.

Damn. Seems like something he'd do too. Him and Chet need a reality show.

Yeah, I'm not gonna douse the Wemby flames because that was an insane performance and something I've never quite seen before. But if the refs are really gonna officiate him this way, then it really is "over" for the league. 8-foot wingspan dude with loose carry rules and getting an Embiid/Harden whistle is a nightmare, and not in a good way.

Dumb question, by why is this illegal? Are there actually laws saying it is insider information? It's not like it is a stock or anything. Is it only illegal because he said place your bets? What if he said don't bother coming to the game because lebron is out? About sell your tickets before it is announced? That's moving a market.

IDK I find it hard to care about all this that some degenerate gamblers lost money on a vice. Let them settle it in civil court versus using the FBI for this.

Obviously we need to see more body of work from Wemby.

And the carry rules coupled with the loose gather step stuff and everything else have been favoring stars for like 20 years now. C'est la vie.
