Liked Connor McGovern.
Dear, Lord. What did Amani Oruwariye do to every NFL general manager?

Sioux Falls T Trey Pipkins to the Chargers. Only charged with allowing 2 sacks in 43 career games.
49ers had been connected to him, too.

Re: 2019 NFL-Draft Thread, Days 1-3 From Nashville
Since 1998, there have been TWO Patriots drafts that I liked 3 or more of their draft picks in a single class. In 2011 and in 2004. That's it.
I already really like/like their last 3 picks that were made just TONIGHT.
Sheesh! Not good.

USC T Chuma Edoga to the Jets. Another one of my favorite players remaining gone.
Morgan State T Joshua Miles is my next guy there.

I still have high hopes for Akhello, but this surely doesn't make any sense to me

The rare Baltimore Ravens WR draft pick that I actually like - Miles Boykin.
Only problem is it's high for him to me but I had him as a target later on.

Re: 2019 NFL-Draft Thread, Days 1-3 From Nashville
Jamel Dean to the Bucs. Polarizing.
Severe injury history. Tore his ACL and meniscus as a high school junior in 2013. He tore the same meniscus the following year as a high school senior in the season finale. Ohio State did not clear him to play football resulting in his transfer to Auburn, who gave him clearance to play. Entered 2016 as a projected starting corner but injured the opposite knee which required season-ending surgery. Did not finally see the field until 2017.
Very good length, size, and strength. Uses his size and length well and excels in press coverage. Hand techniques off the line could improve and gets away with some of it right now because of his size and length. Disciplined in his route recognition. Long speed stands out. Projects well and has a history of success against bigger, slower receivers.
Struggles against smaller, shiftier receivers that have good initial burst. Little initial quickness and not fast in tight spaces. Does not close well and struggles in zone coverage. Questionable feel for the position and instincts are questionable. Only 2 INTs for his career (both in '18) and 1 was gifted to him by Jake Browning. 17 PDs in two seasons. Too many penalties overall and struggles locating the ball and will make contact with his man when he can't find it. Penalties are fine when the play is in front of him. Nothing special as a tackler and a lack of sticking his nose into plays with questionable technique (arm tackler). Has the size to be a plus run game defender and doesn't have a lot of missed tackles but has not shown much yet that he can be a plus in the run game.
Reportedly is still very fast and many believe his straight line speed will be good. Will not be a good fit for every system.

Except the last time he was at RB he said he hated it, was depressed, and almost quit football. Obviously I'm not suggesting they'll move him there full-time but you better know about that part of his background.
Watched some of his highlights and he lined up at RB for Baylor some. I think he is fine playing it in spurts. He is a weapon that Kyle can put everywhere on the field, we will have some crazy packages and plays/routes next year. It will be fun to see what Kyle can come up with
Several months ago Pozz and I had a lengthy discussion about him. It was mostly the positive attributes he brings to an offense. The guy is a matchup nightmare in the redzone. Singleback or out wide as the lone receiver

Good number of people thought the 49ers might target Oshane Ximines (Giants).

Looks like Dougie Baldwin is going to retire. His body is too beat up to play anymore. On ESPNs front page.

Re: 2019 NFL-Draft Thread, Days 1-3 From Nashville
Dawson Knox to the Bills. Man, they've had an interesting and sometimes weird collection of TEs in their team's history.
Smart and athletic, multi-sport athlete in high school and could dunk (won a dunk contest). Played receiver as a high school junior and then grew 4 inches and gained 50 pounds before transitioning to QB going into his senior year. Missed his entire senior season except for a half of the first game. After the 2018 season he had sports hernia surgery and was only fully cleared 1-2 weeks before the NFL Combine. One of the faster TEs in the draft. Usage and production was low (39 career receptions for 605 yards and 0 TDs), partially due to so much offensive talent on the team.
Bigger favorite in scouting community than anywhere else.
Managerial Finance major and wants to pursue a financial advisor career someday.

Oklahoma T Bobby Evans to the Rams.
Better pass protector than he's given credit for.

Kentucky S Mike Edwards to the Bucs.
Some teams had him as a cornerback on their boards (CB reps at Senior Bowl). Very good range.

Early on in the process I thought Grier might actually be a functional starting NFL quarterback and then I cooled on him quite a bit.
As I said before, Finely and Jackson are the only two I'd have had a personal interest in trying to coach but Grier came close.
