Not a fan, would be a waste of a roster spot tbh

Not only do I think He’d help with bench production, I’d LOVE to have Herro practice with Crawford all year. Would definitely pick up some things.

I don't want Herro to pick up a single habit from Crawford. The guy had some of the best handles and natural scoring ability, but he played extremely low IQ ball and no defense.

What good is being a pure bench scorer, when you score with low efficiency? If Herro ends his career at below 53% TS, he's basically already a bust.

Also Crawford is 39. Go ask a Minnesota or Phoenix fan how good he was. He has not only fallen off offensively, he's basically the worst defender in the NBA. His defensive BPM has been -4 the last two years. That has been the lowest mark for any rotation player the last two seasons.

I honestly have trouble thinking of a guy I want less on my team.

Guy doesn't survive in this league as long as he has being as "terrible" as you make him out to be.

He didnt used to be terrible. I considered him an extremely talented underachiever, that was still one of the best 6th men in the league due to his high skill level. But he never maximized those skills because of poor shot selection and decision making.

He is terrible now. At 39, he's currently no longer an NBA caliber player. Literally the worst defender in the NBA the past 2 years.

And he is also not a guy I want mentoring anyone.

From ESPN

NBA summer league buzz: What stood out in Utah and Sacramento

A super Herro sighting in Sacramento

The prospect who stood out at the California Classic was Miami Heat rookie Tyler Herro, the 13th overall pick out of Kentucky.

After Herro debuted Monday with 18 points, 4 assists, 3 rebounds and made 5-of-10 3-pointers in a win over the Lakers, other scouts, assistants and executives took notice.

"Herro was the only one who stood out on the first day," one scout said.

Herro played in two of the Heat's three games, adding 20 points to go with 5 rebounds in a win over Golden State on Wednesday despite missing nine of his 11 3-point attempts.

"Herro is good," an assistant coach said. "He's a guy who has an NBA-ready game, being able to score."

Other prospects who stood out to scouts, coaches and executives: Warriors rookie Jordan Poole, Kings rookie Kyle Guy and Lakers undrafted rookie Zach Norvell Jr., who hit a late go-ahead 3 to give L.A. a win Wednesday night.

Missed the 3 ball like crazy the last game, but even with that, left me impressed with his game. If he is as obsessive about his game and practice as We we’re led to believe, then he WILL continue to evolve and improve. The Herro we see today will be different than the one we see 3 years from now. This can be said about most rookies after a few seasons under the belt, but he already looks to have a confidence and finesse of a 3 year player, so imagine after 3 true years with NBA coaching and support paired with an obsessive work ethic. He just needs to continue to work on his craftiness like Steph did early in his career to make up for some of his short comings.

Crawford has been a net negative for years. What help with bench production?

Because of trade rules regarding the No. 32 pick that previously belonged to the Suns, Okpala is not expected to join the Heat until July 6 — the first day that trades utilizing the 2019-20 salary cap can be completed. That would force Okpala to miss the first part of summer league with the Heat.

Dominating... Isn't the right word, if you're measuring against the average SL performer.

There are better ways to prop him up without exaggerating, I might add. And much better ways to justify a pick instead of using SL. Both equally desperate

Nice surprise, thought the Heat played tomorrow. A little more than 12 hours before we add another player to the roster.

I'm measuring him vs his current competition - as a 19 year old he's 19/4/3/1.5 and we went 2-0 with him playing. So yes, he may not be ready to "dominate" NBA competition but he's playing pretty damn good right now in the moment. I apologize for analyzing the present.

And nobody is "desperate". There's literally nothing happening right now with Kawhi held up. Would you rather just not talk about anything? If so, go check the music thread and don't come back until you feel something "worth your time"

Are you just mad that I didn't include you in my post? Damn, I'm sorry. No need to take it out on Tyler.

Yes, I'm mad and taking things out on Herro. Once he 'dominates' team 'China' today I'll make sure to retweet his twitter fanpage

Forgive me for those comments. Spur of the moment. Was fully vested into Langford and Doumbouya when that clock was running. I came around moments after on the pick.

Return to Miami Heat
