I don't know what to make out of the Khris surgery leak ... was it intended ? And for what ?

A reason to trade him ?
Or
a reason we can't trade him ?

The 2nd appron rule is an illegal rule in my opinion. It should have start being active AFTER 4 years or something. Brook was signed and got overpaid as a salary slot for trades ... which was the main strategy all contenders did ... 2nd appron just changes the whole NBA trade system and teams where not ready. Was this rule announced years ago and I didn't notice or was it as sudden as it seems for us?

They are working out for training camp invites.

But maybe their manager has a tip on a possible trade in the works that may open a spot?

If the Bucks aren’t trading Bobby this offseason I wonder if we extend him regardless of the likelihood he’s a long term piece here.

We do that before August 6 we could trade him as soon as the deadline, right? That’s the case for Lauri at least.

Seems like Bobby’d be more valuable on the market locked up for a few more seasons than the variables with his player option. We lose flexibility to make a move earlier and could be stuck with him if his value craters for some reason are the tradeoffs.

I’ve thought about this, too, but we’d have to be able to stomach Bobby around a 4/80 contract. That’s about the money Monk got paid this off-season, and Bobby would presumably go no lower than Rui’s 3/51.

That’s quite a chunk of change for someone who likely doesn’t start or close with your main players. It may be a decent contract for a team who views him as a starter who can log over 30 minutes per game, though.

You're basically committed to re-signing any and all of Bobby, Brook, and Khris if you keep all three past the trade deadline. Although the hope would be that Brook accepts something like the Al Horford deal (2-yrs $20 million) to finish out his career here, and Middleton would opt out for another 2-3 year deal but at a lower per year salary. That's why Bobby continues to be the odd man out. Paying him 20+ mil for his age 30-33 seasons doesn't seem like a smart gamble given our financial restrictions.

If the Bucks are looking at a shake up to our center rotation, word is the Knicks are looking to make a move:

Strengthening a conference rival with Brook or Bobby might not make sense depending on the return.

Am interested to see Jalen Duren’s name though. James Edwards had the following idea fwiw.

Not sure if it’d still work under the cap but am curious whether we’d go for Duren if he were to be available:

Pistons receive Brook Lopez and a future first-round pick (2031).
Bucks receive Jalen Duren.

For Detroit, this move gets an elite rim protector and shooter from the center spot while also adding some draft capital. On Milwaukee’s end, and I’m not sure if the Bucks’ fan base will love this, but it gets a recent lottery pick under team control who can play now while also opening up a significant exception to use. This deal seems very far-fetched, but it doesn’t feel impossible.

Bucks getting Westbrook seems like a very Doc Rivers type move. Pretty sure Dame and Giannis are friendly with him. He has a similar work ethic. Maybe they move Beauchamp and filler for him? Could sell some jerseys as well.

Bucks projected to win 51.5 games. What do we think is that low, high, or just about right?

I think it is just speculation, I do not think that this has been mentioned anywhere, especially since it is not currently possible.
Dealing with people who exhibit the "smartest person in the room" syndrome can be a challenge. One approach is to listen their opinion while also encouraging open-mindedness. It's important to create an environment where all voices are valued.

Why would Detroit trade Duren? I think there's questions about him topping out similar to where he is currently which is as a better FT shooting version of DeAndre Jordan and when it comes to giving him an extension how much do you want to pay him, but that's a couple years down the line. Right now you're trading a 20 year old big who has 2 years left on a 13th pick contract who was at or near the top of the league in rebounds per 40 minutes.

I'm not trading that pick just to dump salary, and Kispert is himself not good salary right now.

I think probably about right tbh. I doubt we see a malaise to the same level as last year, but it's also clear this is a 16 game squad for the majority of the rotation.

We really shouldn't be reaching "trade a 2029 unprotected 1st for Collin Sexton/Terry Rozier" levels of offseason desperation. I'd stop short of saying the 2031 1st should be "untouchable", but certainly not gonna use it just for a bench piece and to get Pat's sub-MLE salary off the books.

Trent/Prince/Wright are great signings, now there are a lot of players who can contribute in playoff games. However, they are not enough. Next season is still CHAMPIONSHIP OR BUST. One can argue that if we make it to ECF would not be a failure though. In any case, there is something which has to be done. One of Lopez/Portis has to go and we should add a very good defensive big or something like a wing defender. I don't know who's got to go neither whom should we add. But i am sure that this frontcourt is problematic, taking into consideration that we don't have great defenders. I mean, Lopez/Portis are still very good players but they don't fit well with the rest of the team, now that Jrue has gone.

It's an absolute necessity that Bobby or Lopez has to go. I love them both and i will be sad when one of them plays with another jersey but there is no other way, at least for me. Is there any good defensive switchable big/wing defender out there? And i don't mean players like Nance Jr or Eason or Jaxson Hayes, they don't move the needle, we need something better, like Stewart or Jerami Grant.
(Maybe Eason + something else like a pick or another player won't be terrible)

I don’t even think Kispert would confidently crack our top 7 or 8 rotation. No way in hell I’m giving up maybe our best potentially traded asset for that.
