100 percent feel the same. I had posted something earlier about "I hope Melo knows not only the fans, but Amare, Donnie and the Knicks want him", I hadn't seen this full video, so I would not have had that concern had I seen this.

A few months/weeks back a DEN reporter played a joke on Melo by saying he was traded to the Nets. I wish they'd do something similar involving the Knicks. Just to see his reaction.

Nets coach Avery Johnson said Tuesday that he doesn't expect the team to execute a trade for Carmelo Anthony during the team's four-game road trip.
He wouldn't guarantee that a trade wouldn't be made, but that's a bit like saying that Jessica Alba couldn't eat crackers in your bed. The Melodrama, for the love of crumb cake, could last all the way up until the trade deadline.

Weren't they supposed to say nothing about this deal at all.

An interesting article posted on NBA.com today via NBA Writer Shaun Powell

http://www.nba.com/2011/news/features/shaun_powell/01/11/nets-melo/index.html?ls=iref:nbahpt1

Click link to read whole article this is just an excerpt of it.

The Nets are willing to roll the dice, even if Carmelo doesn't sign in advance, which tells you plenty about a franchise that's only on the public radar when Kim Kardashian shows up at games. The Nets are going down this choppy road simply and only because they're desperate to land a star before moving to Brooklyn and into the shadow of the King Kong franchise located at 33rd and 8th in Midtown.

Their fears are realistic: A borough filled with Knick fans will tune out the new team if the Nets are reduced to slapping Brook Lopez on billboards. If Carmelo joins and is then followed in 2012 by Chris Paul -- who's also represented by Rose -- then the Nets will have a solid core group. But who knows if that happens, given the ownership situation with the Hornets? And good luck convincing Carmelo that the No. 2 team in the New York market is his best career option, even if the Nets add past-their-prime veterans Rip Hamilton and Chauncey Billups.

Why would Anthony attach himself to the Nets when he can just wait another three months and join the Knicks? They won't trade anything more than a rotation player (Wilson Chandler or Landry Fields) plus Eddy Curry's expiring contract to get Carmelo from the Nuggets now. They'd rather wait and see if they can get him for free this summer. They want Fields, Chandler, Raymond Felton, Amar'e Stoudemire and Danilo Gallinari on the roster in 2011-12, when Carmelo and the Knicks can win right away. Plus, the Knicks will gladly add payroll and laugh at the luxury tax, because they generate major revenue at the Garden. Say what you will about owner Jim Dolan, he's not shy about opening his wallet.

So, Denver DO want to trade Melo to the Knicks! They just want to be spiteful and not give Melo what he wants. If we apparently don't have what they want, why even trade him here? So you going to trade him here because Nets release all the details? I hope Denver get the worse end of all of this. They sound like a bunch of little kids over there.

an article that didnt do any research. if the trade is done with rip being involved they dont have cap room to sign paul. also i dont see why melo sits there and waits 2 years for paul. also he doesnt realize the knicks can't re-sign chandler if melo comes via free agency.

I'd give up Chandler, Gallo, Curry, for Melo.

For those of you who are so against trading even 2/3 young guys...remember this?

Thats not the point im trying to make.

It's the fact that Chicago was not willing to part with Deng the same way some fans are with Gallo/Fields.

Return to New York Knicks
