Re: Braun tests positive for PED | WON APPEAL (page 30)
I think Braun should come out and attack the results. Say exactly what he and his legal team think caused the positive test. MLB is acting like complete douche bags and petulant children in this. You basically have the players guilty until proven innocent and the independent arbitrator said he is innocent.
Get your crap together, MLB and until then STFU.

So far his PR/legal team has handled this as well as they can. I am confident they'll keep the ball rolling today and going forward.

Re: Braun tests positive for PED | WON APPEAL (page 30)
Per SI:
It is not uncommon for doping control officers in a wide array of sports to hold onto a sample -- often in a refrigerator -- if shipping is not immediately available, and while details of the chain of custody of Braun's sample were not immediately available, a source with knowledge of the sample said that the seals on the sample were unbroken when it arrived at the lab, and that standard lab tests on the sample showed that it had not degraded.
"Around the world, on Sundays or holidays, couriers don't pick up and they don't deliver," said Travis Tygart, the CEO of the United States Anti-Doping Agency (USADA), which drug tests American athletes in Olympic sports. "Some of the labs around the world are closed over the weekend, so they can't even accept samples. And, importantly, they don't need to because synthetic drugs don't magically appear in urine because it took 48 hours versus 20 minutes to get to the laboratory."
Seems to conflict with what Caroll is saying

Re: Braun tests positive for PED | WON APPEAL (page 30)
How does it conflict with what Carroll is saying? He said chain of custody was part of the reason and science was the rest.
How about instead of speculating and quoting people who know as much about this case as we do, we see what Braun has to say?

Re: Braun tests positive for PED | WON APPEAL (page 30)
Maybe im just reading into this wrong, but Carroll was saying that they repeated what happened by taking another urine sample and refrigerating it, to show that thats whats caused the testosterone spike, but Tygart is saying that putting in the the refridgerator wouldn't alter the sample. Maybe im just looking at it wrong?

Munson also said it was just a technicality, though. And Mike and Mike praised him for being so level-headed and objective about the whole situation.

I listen to Mike and Mike for about 15 seconds on the way to work while my other radio stations are on commercial break. It was just enough to hear Golic yelling into the mic that there wasn't an issue with the science, that the sample wasn't tampered with and he got off on a technicality.
ESPN is the worst.

Re: Braun tests positive for PED | WON APPEAL (page 30)
If ESPN would spend literally 30 seconds studying the drug testing program they would know there is no way he got off on a little technicality.
Once you test positive you're guilty until proven innocent. The burden of proof is all on the player so you have to have a damn good defense especially because you can't just say I didn't know this was in here and it wasn't listed as one of the ingredients.

I Know Dan Patrick hates ESPN but, I just turned his show on and he is giving it to ESPN and saying ESPN should be taking some heat for leaking the story and they owe an explanation. Finally someone who calls out the source of this story!

Seriously. Whether or not Braun legitimately tested positive, MLBs behavior has been TERRIBLE in this since the word go. Leaking the original test, refusing proposals by Braun to prove his innocence, now bitching up a storm publicly about the results. They need to either be contrite or they need to be quiet. This **** is OVER.
These doping agency guys remind me of Nancy Grace. They want everybody to be guilty to justify their own existences.

Re: Braun tests positive for PED | WON APPEAL (page 30)
Not only that but because somebody (99% sure it was somebody from MLB) leaked this story in December MLB felt they could just say they vehemently disagree with the decision.
So what happens if nobody knows about this? Nobody from MLB tells ESPN and the positive test is never reported. Do they come out and say again? No, they keep their mouths shut because it's confidential but because somebody, likely from their side leaked the story they feel they can go out and slam Braun again even after he was proven innocent.

Re: Braun tests positive for PED | WON APPEAL (page 30)
This story is bizarre. Just heard on the DP show that the guy who took the urine sample bypassed two fed ex locations on his way to a third location. The third was closed, so he kept the urine in his house for two days. He then testified at the trial and when they asked his name, he paused for 40 seconds and gave his name, then they told him to identify Ryan Braun and he couldn't even look at Braun. His sample could have been tampered with. His sample did contain the highest levels of testosterone ever tested. If Braun was juicing, his sample would show high levels, not insanely high levels, masking agents cover up just enough, not create ridiculous results. And back to the urine transporter, he is also a Cubs Fan.

Re: Braun tests positive for PED | WON APPEAL (page 30)
I think MLB knew right away something was wrong with the test and that Braun would get off. That's why they leaked the story. Once it was leaked and talked about they felt they could rip the arbitrator once he officially overturned the results. As said above, if the story had not leaked MLB would not have been able to say anything right now. Disgusting.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

That replicating the results thing sounds like the clincher and probably what Braun will talk about today.

If the replication issue is true, I hope to hell that's what Braun mentions to the media, because no one outside of Carroll is talking about it.
