Rivers is not a bad passer at all, he has the ability to make most all of the passes a PG needs to be able to make. He certainly has the ability to create since he can get in the lane and make the D collapse almost at will.

He CHOOSES not to pass most times, which is something coachable.

i've heard he runs a pretty mean pnr, but how would he go finding Dwight? would he be another Jameer that misses too many opportunities to offload to Dwight next to the rim?

would we need another Turk-esque wing who can facilitate an offense to compliment him?

what are the best and worst options we're dealing it for? dealing it to move up? or dealing it to move down? or dealing it to move someone off the books?

God I hope Kyler is wrong.

Unless we're trying to trade up, that is.

I wouldn't mind us trying to bundle it with a player for a bigger deal. That'd be something. JJ and #19 for Ellis would be excellent.

Would you guys do Jrich and 19 for Wes Matthews? We get rid of him for a young better SG with the same contract.

I guess, but aren't we supposed to be done with "quick-fix" guys? It's time to start rebuilding, not to try to plug the holes of a sinking ship.

If you want to land a big fish, every team is going to ask for the 19th pick. Whether we're trying to get Monta, Iggy, or Smith, they'll all ask for the 19th pick to sweeten the deal.

And I'd gladly deal it for any of the 3. I'd like the foundation of Monta + Dwight.

How is Ellis a quick fix? If we can get him and keep him long term, I wouldn't mind. He's only 26.

I certainly wouldn't mind getting Monta, but we'd still need a hell of a lot more than Monta and Dwight to be championship contenders again.

This is true, but if we got Monta this summer and Rob can create a plan to clear space for another star in '13, how does Dwight not stay?

Creating cap space with our assets is easier said than done, especially since we would likely have to take Gooden in any Monta trade.

I want us to clear the decks and start over, but I know that I'm one of the few who actually wants that.

This is true of any scenario. But we haven't had a consistent player that can create off the dribble from the perimeter in all of Dwight's career. If we have an opportunity to get that, we've got to pounce. If we can, trade JJ/BBD/19th (I'd rather keep BBD, but Ryan gets a say in where he goes) for Monta. Then trade J-Rich for a first round draft pick (going based off the Minny idea for the 18th). Draft Moe Harkless at 18 and sign a shooting guard.

Monta
CLee
Harkless
Ryan
Dwight

Just curious, why would you want to rebuild if you can keep the best center in the entire league? He's one of the best players in the NBA, any team would want to build around him. So why rebuild if we can keep Dwight?

I want to trade him. I honestly don't see a way he stays without doing a dumb trade that destroys our cap room even further. Just trade him to Houston or LA and get it over with.

We should trade for Ellis if we can. He would give us that dynamic scorer in the backcourt we have been missing. We also snatch up one of the big name FAs of 2013 before they become a FA. All we would have to do then is get rid of JRich and Hedo. Hedo should be simple to move since he only has 6 million guaranteed for the 2013-2014 season (he would probably be moved in February, then waived by his gaining team). JRich will be harder to move because for one he is an inconsistent player making 6 million a year for the next 3 years and sucks hardcore at defense. I think we could still move him for a low 1st rounder though. Moving those two guys clears 12 million and basically opens the doors for Iggy or Smith in the offseason to put beside Howard, JJ, Davis and Ellis (Anderson will stick around as well if he only gets offered 6 to 7 million).

I want to trade him.

Yeah, I realize the organization has gone through a lot of drama having him. That is partly their own fault, though. Many failed seasons due to a bad front office (Thanks Otis). We got a shot to turn it around now, Hennigan looks promising.

Now we just need Shaw and I feel like we are in a great position if we keep or lose Dwight.

would have to be the leftovers of barnes mkg beal or robinson, all of which would be immediate starters on this team
