good, we're going to need him... this team is taking turns getting injured.

On the Utah broadcast, it was written:

"Could return on Friday against Portland"

If we feel like he's ready to go and can help us win he needs to be on the floor against Portland. Going 3-1 on this road trip would be a good morale booster.

We don't really know the situation. Usually when you hear "dislocated shoulder and surgery", it's usually followed by a 4-6 month recovery. We never heard anything other than "up to 6 months". If he came back on Feb 5th, it would be 4 months to the day. They never released a time table.

we know that most of the injured on the roster are dealing with recurring injuries and that's been a trend going back for years now

the timetable for this kind of injury is almost never this fast. and for a guy who plays as physically as mkg... i'm not excited about this.

I think this has literally happened at least once with every single injury we've had this season. Al, Batum, Lamb, and Lin all came too early, barely played (looked like crap) and got re-injured. I think all of them except Al have been re-injured multiple times. I was fully expecting to hear after last nights game that Batum aggravated the toe and would be out another couple games. If we would have just given them all an extra weak or so off in the first place they would probably all be pretty much fully healthy now.

I'm definitely with you on being skeptical about MKG's return. I wish they would give him and Al til the all-star break and use that free time to integrate them into our new rotation. I'm going to be pissed if this backfires.

Wouldn't normally be able to see Rick's tweets, but Marc Stein retweeted it.

@rick_bonnell
The @hornets Michael Kidd-Gilchrist is close to being activated for the first time this season. Could happen Friday in Portland.

What a massive upgrade over Hairston.

I gotta temper myself and prepare to accept that MKG will likely only be playing 17-22 minutes per game and no 4th quarters. Lol

I agree with you. It seems he's being rushed back.

And Cliff wants to start him? I think that's crazy. He should get limited minutes off the bench and ease his way back into the flow. He's going to be rusty. I really hope no more injuries for this guy. He's a good guy and wonderful player. This seems soon.

It makes sense to play him with the starters. They need to get acclimated to playing with one another. That doesn't mean he has to play starters minutes though and I expect he won't until he has several games under his belt.

I don't expect him to instantly impact our team positively. Yes, i want him to start, but it's better to manage his minutes so he could get his rythim's back while play in limited minutes. I'll be pissed if Cliff try to let him plays a lot of minutes for the 1st game back from injury. We already had enough injured players.

He's such an improvement over Hairston I expect him to have a big impact overall even in limited minutes.

Agreed.

With his energy and effort alone I expect a positive impact from him the moment he steps onto the court.
