We'll see what he looks like against other teams and actual schemes but Duvall looks like he may be able to get anywhere on the floor which bodes well for a kid that may need to hide his jumper this season.

Is there any chance for Mykhailiuk to sneak in the 1st round? I mean he is the youngest NCAA senior player I can think of and was a pretty hyped player in europe before going over.

he'll need a huge Frank Mason type breakout year and he'll have to showcase the additional skills that those of us who have followed him prior to Kansas know are in the toolset. I just don't see him having the room to do with the Kansas guards. Josh Jackson had a similar issue last year but he came in with more than enough hype to make life easy for him to still thrive as a 2nd/3rd option on the team. Svi might get stuck in the same situation with Malik Newman and Devonte Graham there. Also has some wings he'll need to beat out with similar skillsets.

Re: 2018 NBA Draft
Thought Id drop some of these tweets in here, this is from the open practice Duke had for NBA scouts
Al Horford 2.0
I have heard some promising things on his jumper in practice as of late. Nice to hear that continued in front of scouts.
I brought up Javin this time last year as a guy to watch out for in the 2018 or 2019 draft. The dude is a really athletic 6'10 forward with a crazy motor.
I dont think there is a threat of him dropping out of the first round strictly because of his size/athleticism/handle. Ive been hearing hes been looking really good facilitating the ball in practice, sounds like he had a high TO day in front of the scouts though.

DeLaurier is cool, plays hard, and has grown, reminds me a bit of Joel Bolomboy/JMMcAdoo
Carter feels like a worse athlete than Horford, or less developed but he is really young so who knows, that's my main doubt with him.

Ya Javin is a dude that is really raw but has really good size 6'10 with a 7' wingspan and moves very very well for his size, hes a phenomenal athlete.
I gotta disagree with you when it comes to Carter and his athleticism compared to Horford. I think he moves better and is more bouncier. But I do agree that he doesnt have the great athleticism that a lot of bigs have now adays and that lowers his ceiling.

Re: 2018 NBA Draft
I struggle to see Duval fall out of the first, he has elite skills and that's always a premium. It's not like he's a lost case as a PG, just still working out the position in my eyes.

Always a PG who can't shoot in the top 10.

I love Bridges as a 3/4 that can shoot, score, and D up.
He just doesn't have star potential. The other guys int he top 5 do.

I've said that Duval is not a top player in the 218 draft for about a year. He reminds me alot of Myck Kabongo

For a guy who can only shoot, I'd like to see him be a lot more consistent with that 3pt shot. He's not the same type of player we thought he could become. I think this is partly to blame on Self for not allowing Mykhailiuk to be more of a ball handler/passer. Only way he sneaks into the 1st is if he can average at least 16+ppg and starts to show defensive awareness. He's got good lateral quickness, but his awareness on defense isn't good.

Bridges can become a top 5 pick if he shows that his 3pt shooting isn't a fluke, and continues to improve on his ball handling and finishing ability. He's the same age as all the other freshman in this draft and it would be kinda silly to label him as a role player when he's shown lots of offensive versatility.

Bridges won't be even the best prospect on his own team.

Re: 2018 NBA Draft
Wendell Carter was very impressive in my opinion last night for Duke. 11/9 on 5/7 shooting (1/1 from 3) in 18 minutes. Showed a lot of skills down low and has really good form on his jumper as well, he is just a jack of all trades. Doesnt have the super high ceiling as the top 5 guys in this draft, but the dude is definitely a really good prospect.

You might be right. Hes much more athletic than kabongo but still he's not as athletic as I initially thought. His jumpshot is really bad, his game is out of control, and has questionable decision making.

Carter is unlucky because of huge depth of bigs in this draft, I watched Jaren Jackson Jr in first MSS preseason game and he looked amazing - but I mean really AMAZING, he'll be probably the youngest freshman select in first round, and he had something like 8 or 9 blocks in 21 minutes, with amazing timing, bball IQ and great movement on defensive end of a floor. Just watch a tape.
36:30
And he's very good shooter despite his a little bit awkward shot technique, in HS he was >75%ft and >40%3pt type of big with good touch around a rim, and his free throws look so comfortable. So he seems to be much more polished version of Myles Turner coming to Texas, and that's why I think he's not that far away from Bamba as a prospect. Bamba is probably more gifted one but if Jackson shots the ball well he will be so interesting prospect for scouts considering his age and a fact how well his game can translate to NBA because of his movement/defense/shooting. To be elite rim protector you don't need to have 7'9'' wingspan like Bamba, and I don't think Bamba will be able to shot the ball nearly as good as Jackson this season. I saw a topic here about who has the biggest chances outside projected top5 to be a top pick, and my answer is JJ Jr.
Carter is very versatile big, but his ceiling is not as high as in case of these guys.

Re: 2018 NBA Draft
Ughhh, I want the Nets pick back, two strait drafts with a top three pick and no good big men at the top of them. I'm not sure it's worth following the college season with the small chance of the Lakers pick transferring. I'm excited to see what guys like Jackson and Richards can do this year.
