Baker Mayfield - QB - Sooners
Oklahoma redshirt senior QB Baker Mayfield was named the Big 12 Offensive Player of the Year.
Mayfield also came away with the honor back in 2015. Perhaps the Heisman Trophy favorite -- we still like Lamar Jackson as deserving but there just hasn't been the same excitement around him this season as there was a year ago -- the redshirt senior has thrown for 4,097 yards (71.4-percent completions) with a 37/5 TD/INT ratio for the regular season. He's had his minor moments of non-football infamy this season (planting the flag after a win over Ohio State, his vaguely NSFW acts against Kansas) but there have been no signs that those incidents will have any impact on his chances for big-time hardware.

Mason Rudolph - QB - Cowboys
Oklahoma State senior QB Mason Rudolph was named the winner of the Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award.
The Golden Arm weighs not only on-field performance, but also attributes of character, citizenship, classroom performance and leadership. It is handed out annually to seniors and fourth-year juniors who are on track to graduate. Said Rudolph, "I was taught from a young age that there is more to life than football and I'm thankful to the committee for selecting me." The prolific gunslinger led the FBS in passing yardage (4,553), passing yards per game (379.4) and points responsible for (270) this season. He finished the regular-season campaign with a 35/9 TD/INT ratio and additionally chipped in with 10 rushing scores.

Baker Mayfield VS Josh Rosen: Who will be the better pro'?
Really like both of these prospects.
As much as I want Nelson, NIners absolutely need to take a franchise QB if he's there. I don't care that they have Jimmy; you don't pass on a potentially-great QB. For anyone. Period.
He'd sit, and if Jimmy doesn't cut it, he'd get his chance. If Jimmy is great, the dude becomes the biggest trade-bait player in the league.

Josh Allen - QB - Cowboys
Wyoming redshirt junior QB Josh Allen ranks at the top of CBS Sports analyst Brady Quinn's draft-eligible quarterback list.
Quinn, himself a former first-round draft pick out of Notre Dame, believes that Allen has a skillset that is very similar to former North Dakota State and current Philadelphia Eagle star Carson Wentz. Ranking behind Allen are UCLA's Josh Rosen, USC's Sam Darnold, Washington State's Luke Falk and Oklahoma State's Mason Rudolph. If a team picking high sees the same Wentz's comparisons, he could be one of -- if not the -- first quarterbacks taken.

I agree. Or we can trade it for 3 future first round picks.

Shea Patterson - QB - Rebels
Multiple outlets are reporting that Ole Miss sophomore QB Shea Patterson has been given permission to contact other programs regarding a potential transfer.
Patterson (6'2/203) has reportedly been granted his request to explore transfer options, but won't be allowed to head off to another SEC program, nor will he be allowed to transfer to a program which Ole Miss plays in the next two years. While Patterson would need a waiver request from the NCAA to play immediately next season, Rivals' Chase Parham is reporting that "the NCAA would possibly be lenient with waiver requests involving Ole Miss non-seniors" due to the sanctions levied against the program on Friday -- the Rebs will be banned from bowl play for a second consecutive year in 2018. Per 247Sports' David Johnson, Michigan is "probably the favorite" to land him should he push forward more substantively with the possibility of transfer, with USC and UCLA also bandied about as potential landing spots. The five-star sophomore missed the final month-plus of the current season after tearing the PCL in his right knee near the end of October. Should a transfer come thr

Sam Darnold looked great. you have to tell yourself there are actually two franchise Quarterbacks at the top of this draft that we can draft. Darnold or Rosen.
I'm not the kind of guy who says you don't draft a guy cause you have another guy. you draft best player. if you have Bledsoe you draft Brady. So I'm drafting Darnold or Rosen I don't care. I'm drafting them. Darnold looked great. and the guy just wins games. he wins big games. great pocket Quarterback. I know our scouts were there he's a great Quarterback. and he's the kind of Quarterback that just scores touchdowns. and he's the kind of quarterback who can make plays and get his team wins.

Finally getting around to this. Another week, another score for Goedert in a playoff win. 3 in the last 4 games, 5 in the last 7 games. Now over 1,000 yards for the year.

Darnold looked like crap earlier in the year, though. Still have questions about him.

Quenton Nelson - G - Fighting Irish
Pro Football Focus calculates that Notre Dame redshirt junior G Quenton Nelson allowed just three quarterback pressures in the 2017 regular season.
That number is the fourth-lowest of any guard in the FBS this season. We've talked ad nauseam about the job Notre Dame's offensive line has done in giving the Irish runners holes to run, but Nelson and company have also done a tremendous job of giving Brandon Wimbush time to throw the football. If Nelson declares as expected, he has a legitimate chance of being a top ten -- or higher -- selection.

Rashaad Penny - RB - Aztecs
San Diego State senior RB Rashaad Penny will attend the Reese's Senior Bowl after accepting an invitation.
Penny was able to reach a thousand yards despite being a backup to Donnel Pumphrey, and he was the nations leading rusher this year with 2,027 yards. He also has returned seven kicks for touchdowns, showing that he can be a contributor on special teams as well. He appears to be a volatile NFL prospect right now, but if he shows out in the Senior Bowl against the best of the best, it will be a major boon for Penny's draft stock. Don't be surprised if he does just that.

Roquan Smith - LB - Bulldogs
NFL Draft Scout's Rob Rang came away impressed with Georgia junior LB Roquan Smith after his performance against Auburn in the SEC Championship.
Smith was everywhere against the Tigers, recovering two fumbles, picking up ten solo tackles and a sack in the 28-7 victory. Rang says that Smith showed impressive speed and recognition during the game, and the 6-foot-1, 225-pound linebacker is also a sound tackler. An inside linebacker has to show a high ceiling along with a high floor to be drafted high, and Smith might offer both.

Dexter Lawrence - DL - Tigers
NFL.com Draft Analyst Daniel Jeremiah believes that Clemson junior DT Dexter Lawrence is the best defensive player participating in the College Football Playoff.
Jeremiah says that Lawrence (6'4/330) has the highest upside of any defender playing in the playoff, and that's saying something when you consider how many first-round defenders there will be playing between Clemson, Alabama and Georgia. Even in a loaded defensive tackle class, Lawrence has to be the first interior lineman selected, and some have even mentioned him as a target for the first selection.

Baker Mayfield - QB - Sooners
While asking five different executives who Oklahoma senior QB Baker Mayfield fit best with, NFL.com Draft Analyst Daniel Jeremiah came to the conclusion that he fits best with the Los Angeles Chargers.
All five executives came up with different answers: The Chargers, Cardinals, Saints, Jaguars, and Bills. Jeremiah agreed with the executive who picked the Chargers, however. "...if I had to pick one that fits him best, I would go with the Chargers," Jeremiah writes. "Getting the opportunity to learn from [Phillip] Rivers for a couple years could do wonders for his career. He wouldn't be forced into action right away and he would have a pretty impressive group of young skill players to grow with for the next decade."

Re: 2017-18 CFB SEASON / '18 NFL DRAFT
I would have much rather them going after Scott Frost, but the timing caused Nebraska to get a head start. In any event I’m not totally upset about this hiring but man Jimbo was a great one. He broke our hearts.
Willie Taggart - C - Seminoles
Yahoo Sports' Pete Thamel reports that Florida State HC Willie Taggart has signed a six-year, $30 million contract.
Taggart officially fled for FSU from Oregon earlier on Tuesday. He had been hoping to net a contract around the seven-year, $35 million one that Scott Frost landed at Nebraska over the weekend. While Thamel is passing along that his contract does not last quite as long as Frost's, the annual salary of $5 million is the same on both deals.
