I was surprised to see Klavzar in this game. Imo he's more of an undersized SG than a PG. Struggles with decision making and ball handling, but has a nice scoring package. Wasn't expecting Djordjevic to be coaching China either.

So many people who attain the heights of power in this culture—celebrities, for instance—have to make a show of false humility and modesty, as if they got as far as they did by accident and not by ego or ambition.

and you know what is even more crazy? that even without kleber and hartenstein, we are still able to bring two NBA players at the frontcourt with Mo Wagner and Daniel Theis.

Plus Voigtmann who could have been an NBA rotation player. In the Dirk era it was basically Femerling and naturalized Kaman for one summer or so. Too bad the best German players always come along when the other ones retire. A Dirk, Schrempf, Franz frontcourt would have been nice.

When you compare current Germany team to 2005ish without Dirk, night and day improvement.

True, not even Okulaja (RIP) was on that team. Dirk was an awesome FIBA player, carrying those teams to medals at the WC and EC.

He’s just more loyal to Denver than Serbia, so it’s understandable. LOL

A tough ask) it's best to play up that pride factor that you can beat Team USA even if you're just playing for a ragtag team like the Dominican Republic. That's more impressive for me that joining "Super (US) Team" and your brand and play might actually improve more.

Educate yourself.

Didn't know that, thank you.

So which current stars can make that jump-- from US to another country?

Reading a bunch about Embiid, still able to choose between France and US (and another country?)

Who else?

Granted it was not the toughest of opponents, but France certainly looked ready in a 93-36 trashing of Tunisia yesterday.

Bruh, a Cameroonian basketball superstar could play for US, France, and some another country, I wonder which country it is :banghead:

Not World Cup-related but Olympic qualifying roster update for Bahamas:

Three NBA players (Deandre Ayton, Buddy Hield, and Kai Jones) are set to join the squad, the Bahamas basketball federation announced.

https://basketnews.com/news-192761-deandre-ayton-spearheads-bahamas-roster-for-olympic-qualifiers.html

Great to see more and more players touching base with their roots and well improve these previously ran-on basketball countries.

Nick Weiler-Babb will not play for Germany due to injury. Jonas Mattisseck of Alba Berlin replaces him in the preliminary roster. Weiler-Babb started at the 2 in the EuroBasket last summer.

Kyle Anderson getting some work in with the team.

Australian players, like Giddey, Delly, Daniels, in scrimmages.

Feel like i read somewhere that Hartenstein was an absolutely unbearable piece of work to be in a team with.

Do i remember right? What's the deal there?

Germany could be a basketball giant if the game was even a bit more popular

At least, it's above curling (knowing they have a good team generally for both women & men, it's like half of a joke ^ ^).

"Track and Field" is one of the six parts (disciplines) of Athletics, spesifically those which are competed on the track and field while the other disciplines are competed outside of track and field. Athletics include in addition to "Track and Field" also "Road Running", "Race Walking", "Cross Country Running", "Mountain Running", and "Trail running".

Basketball is even behind something here which I do not even know what it is. What the hell is Tobogganing? I have never heard of that here in germany.

But yeah, this graph shows exactly the state here in germany. You have football, football, football, football and football. And after that football. And a little while later all the rest follows.
