it's almost as if a 6-10 17 year old isn't gonna be making every shot

i know, crazy stuff

Right because being 17 is so much different from being a few months older.

His jumper was awful the first few weeks. That actually happened, it wasn't some creation by the 'haters'. .

yes, and now hopefully you've learned your lesson not to formulate strong opinions around a three week sample size of games, especially for a player with great priors like Cooper. glad we're on the same page.

I didn't learn anything.

Flagg started shooting much better and my opinion changed accordingly. If he continued shooting like ass I would still have him at 2 which isn't exactly an insult.

I judge players by what i see on the court. I dont take fanboy feelings into account.

didn't you "formulate strong opinions" about the 2024 class before games had even been played, let alone a three week sample size? Maybe sit this one out

This trade wasn't some conspiracy - it was just a GM wanting AD bad enough where in most people's eyes he overpaid by a long shot to get him.

Cooper Flagg in ACC play: 23 ppg, 7 reb, 4 asts, on 59% FGs, 50% 3pt. that is absurd.

Coopers freshman BPM is at 15.8, he may very well pass Anthony Davis's absurd 17.2 by season end.

He's an absolute stud. I'm sure Duke4life is enjoying the hell outta Duke basketball this year.

it should be noted, Davis isn't the standard. Zion's 20.1 has him beat by a significant amount.

I agree Zion is the peak for freshman BPM. But I couldn't gloss over Davis who also had a massive freshman impact. Cooper may, or may not pass Davis.

But regardless he's having a monster season so far. It's been impressive watching him grow as a player throughout the season and how quickly he's assessed his perceived weaknesses.

Zion shouldn't be compared to anyone, people still don't understand just the freak of nature season he had at Duke, complete anomaly...dude made Obama come out watch him play live

i agree 100%. but sometimes people need to be reminded of how far above everybody else he was.

in fairness, it turns out the poster i responded to was not one of those people.

As well as being one of the best all-round defensive prospects to come around in a long time.

It’s not contrarian. It’s more like reality. They even have NBA gms saying that they don’t see Flagg as a number 1

Lebron made it to the finals with that cleveland team.

Bird would have won 4 rings with that team, in this weak ass era of basketball.

He’d go #1 in 20 of the last 25 drafts

Yeah it would have been nice if he had hit that last shot but Flagg was still comfortably the best player on the floor last night, as a HS senior aged freshman going up against 5th year seniors. Anthony Davis level prospect to me

EmpireFalls wrote:He’d go #1 in 20 of the last 25 drafts

Yeah, to me he’s only clearly behind LeBron, Wemby and Zion, and would be neck and neck with AD and Oden
