Max Strus also deserves to be the starting two guard for this team and given a reasonable bird rights extension. Herro needs to be traded. Strus is just a better fit for Butler. Draft one of the many talented young 2’s who will be there in the draft at 18.

So what happens when Jimmy doesn't feel like playing for half the regular season? Herro is fine as starter. The real change is we took way too long to put Lowry to run the bench because we thought Dipo would fill the role.

Moving Strus away from PF and having him regain his starting two spot has really flipped the script. Kevin Love and Zeller have also been god sends in the front court size department.

It will literally only make us better and more prepared to win back to back championships next season. It has to be done

Strus reminds me alot of Dan Majerle. Great size at 6’5 220 for a two guard. So hard to back down. Big advantage over the 190 pounder Herro when it comes to defending.

His strength and athleticism open up a lot of different things that set him apart from Duncan and even Herro

We added Zeller and Love and Love’s size at the 4 has been crucial to this run. We also got bigger at the two with Strus once Herro went down. Small ball got us the 8th seed but Zeller and Love’s size has helped us greatly with this run in the playoffs.

He coasted all season for this moment and luckily has answered the call. This was always the plan, it’s why we saw him sit so many games the first 70% of the season and played in quite a few games he might as well have sat out effort wise.

Yes if he was putting up 20-5-5 we probably lose but this has always been the plan.

Past two playoff runs Strus has been a major cog staring at the two spot. He was used out of position for most of the regular season. It’s ok to trade Herro for other areas of need.

Jimmy a solid player regardless but he thrives in our system. He thrives in our culture. We allow him to be who he is. You take away who he's playing for and the coach making shots & elite level adjustments and we don't win the play ins let alone the series and are currently on vacation already.
