Same, but I believe Weltman won't even after his sacrificing defense for offense interview.

On important note.
People talk down how Garland doesn't show up in playoffs.
He at least plays.

Suggs hasn't been able to play in April games 3 out of 4 years since he entered league.

Utah has to be motivated to get rid of Sexton and Clarkson. They have a log jam at guard, and they are projected to pick another guard at #5. They are developing Keyonte and Collier at PG.

The only problem is we'd want to send them guards back.

This is my concern with suggs, he plays so hard that he ll always miss time to injury.

Garland is a downgrade on D but his playmaking and 3pt would really help us.
And black is ready to break out
KCP would benefit a lot to share court with suggs

Utah has Keyonte George, Juzang, Collier, and Cody Williams that they are developing at guard. They are projected to pick Tre Johnson.

I like Sexton more than Garland, and it wouldn't cost Suggs.

Garland is the MUCH better player. The funny thing is, we even have real life example of that. They played together. When Sexton got injured Cleveland won 47 games and would have won over 50 if Garland hadnt a injury. All lead by Garland. Sexton is a career losing player.
Sexton is good at driving but a bad playmaker & low volume 3point shooter. There is not one argument skill & impactwise for Sexton over Garland, especially for our team, that doesnt need another iso player who can sometimes pass when all his scoring options are not there.
You try out Sexton if the better options are gone and you can get him for cheap.

I think Garland is soft, and I like Suggs better. The big reason they want to get rid of Garland and get Suggs is to get tougher. We've seen it before, Suggs can shut down Haliburton, and Garland can't slow him down.

This is what they were saying about Garland before the playoffs. Then Garland goes out and proves once again how soft he is.

I swear, most people who "like Sexton" never saw single game of him.

For start, you are getting player shorter than Cole (6'0) , weighting 180 pounds, who averages less assists per game, for career than Cole.

Second, you get very low 3FGA player ( 3,9 FGA for 3 for career, never took more than 4,3 shots a game).

Third, 8th year in nba, he never played for a single team that was anything more than tanking team. Not even on playoff-hopeful teams. Straight up tanking teams whole career long. You are getting guy with epic 31% win rate for career ( 130/ 277 ).

Fourth. His offense is isolation. He does same stuff Banchero and Franz do, just isn't that good at it.
Guy was top 50 in most iso plays per game (2,2 a game) and shot 37% FG off them (44th percentile).

His strengths are: athleticism and speed, solid finishing around rim, scoring in pick&roll at solid rate and ability to push pace.
His go to move is isolation -mid range. Sounds familiar? :banghead:

And yet people think he will fix things he never showed any serious ability of doing like running offense, or being high usage spot up shooter, or being able to make right passes off pick&roll. It's crazy.

btw , there isn't any metric on planet Earth that would make him appear even average defender. But since he never played in playoffs (or any serious basketball for that matter) people pretend he is okey defender for whatever reason. He isn't.

If all goes as it's expected to, then the Orlando Magic shouldn't hesitate to call the LA Clippers about Norman Powell.

Norman Powell and Nicolas Batum for Cole Anthony and Goga Bitadze works salary wise. I like that trade actually.

I’m bias and emotional attached and not a GM. I’m not trading Suggs this offseason. Injuries are a big concern.

Suggs is a two-way player just godly on D. He can become a volume shooter if he stays healthy.

I’m giving him more time here.

Garland over Sexton for what we needs seems simple and I wanted Sexton at the trade deadline over Simons.

I would welcome Sexton for sure. Contract value is going to be pretty critical but if I’m comparing impact on the team offense it’s Garland.

Sexton has moments where he loses control on offense. I did watch him a lot last season.

Powell shot .418 from 3 last season on 10.8 attemps per 100 possessions. Getting him for Goga and Cole would probably help both teams. Powell's 6'10.75" wingspan has always helped him be a decent defender. He's probably one of our top 5 targets.

Yea would help the Clippers alot. They trade their most consistent & one of the best player for the really really bad version of him and a backup Center.
You know a guy who scored 22 ppg on .615%TS & carrer .600%TS. If he played for a east team, he probably would have been a Allstar this season. Maybe we should ask for a extra pick too.
