I like the Indy trade as well...like Foster as a high-energy banger, and there could be a lot of interesting options at 10. Don't like the Toronto deal.

Depending on the guy we get, I like the 20-40 idea as well (for some reason, I really like Sanders...reminds me of Theo, who Collins helped develop in DET)...

i am pretty sure if its 20-40 its alabi or jordan.

they really have a short top 3 big man list right now. that could change of course with an impressive workout.

this is all assuming they cant get back up high enough for cousins.

Whoa, whoa, whoa... you can't just slip that tidbit in at the end. Is that the ultimate goal? To try and get up high enough to take Cousins?

Don't understand at all why people are interested in Jeff Foster. This team isn't going to be competing for anything significant for a while and when we do Foster won't be around to help (he's got 1 year left and I can't see us resigning him). The guy is old and injury prone. I'd rather give his minutes to a D league type guy who might have some long term potential. Just play Jason Smith/Speights more. No reason to waste minutes on a guy who isn't part of this teams future.

My interest in Jeff Foster is solely as an expiring contract should be able to dump some salary in a trade with Indiana.

He's an expiring contract needed to make salaries match. He can also contribute a bit, but that's the main reason.

TGP,
what i mean is they arent trading iguodala to get up and get cousins. which means probably top 5. They feel cousins is high upside but a risk. If cousins falls a little and they can get him 6-10 but moving Thad and parts..fine...but Iguodala wont be part of a draft night trade.

Found this vid when searching for Jerome Jordan. last 6 minutes of an exciting Tulsa(Jordan) v Memphis(Tyreke Evans) game Jan, 2009. Gives you a glimpse of some opf Jordan's strengths and weaknesses in a big game:

i think getting to 10-15 is doable but may cost thad and maybe one other player....getting to 20-40 may cost thad and you probably get a guy back that can help you somewhere.

So we traded a pick in that 20-40 range for Meeks, and now we want to trade Thad for a pick in this range and a player?
I cannot wait to see what player + Meeks will have been worth Thad...

That would have been very interesting...

Are they looking incase one(read:Cousins) falls? Or are they pondering, even somewhat the potential of trading back into the top-5(read:Minnesota, they need a swing man. And while Iguodala doesn't bring the floor game Turner does, he pretty much brings the same thing).

Dedicated, I honestly don't get you. You bash Iguodala daily. Saying he has inflated stats, that he is the king of mediocrity, and just an average player. But yet you think we can get a Top 5 pick for him?

1) Yes, Iguodala has inflated stats. And here's the difference between good GM'S and bad GM'S. Good GM'S, when analyzing the strength of their team and having an Iguodala, a Davis, A Maggette(someone either "playing better" or getting better stats then they really are) they sell high, period.

We can say to Minnesota "Iggy is a 17 PPG scorer on 44% shooting" which is true, yet blatantly false at the same time(Iggy was HORRIBLE for most of the season). Minnesota will probably believe that.

Especially if DeMarcus Cousins looks like a bust, there's really no one else in this draft with loterry potential. Minnesota will gladly take Iguodala over Cousins, it's a position of need and NBA player.

I on the other hand, will gladly take the gamble. If Cousins is an all-star 20/10 center, I won the draft with Cousins/Turner. If I lost the gamble, Iguodala's only a 14-15 PPG swingman and Thaddeus Young will easily reduplicate those stats.

Bad GM'S, would believe Iguodala's inflated numbers and extend him to the kind of contract he has now. So I'm calling Stefanski a bad GM.

That said, while Minnesota passes. Sacramento and Golden State will NOT pass. So Cousins will only go down as far as #5-#6th. If by some chance he passes Sac and Golden State, Detroit at #7 will instantly draft him.

Then again, with the loss of Kevin Martin, they could use another starter at the 2-3 spot.

Does Iguodala, Williams, Future first get it done for Sacramento? We might have to take Nocioni's contract back.

I think Iguodala fits tremendously well with Tyreke Evans. I also like Lou Williams for them off the bench. And a future first is great value.

That Meeks trade wasn't good. Meeks could be a good, but having a fairly early 2nd gives a team more options.

Here are a few questions for anybody to answer.
Does Iggy have the most trade value at this point in his contract?
Could he gain more trade value playing under Collins?
This summer teams will have cap space, a new CBA is coming, and Iggy's contract escalates, would his trade value go down?
Hypothetically, if Iggy could be used to get a top 5 pick would it be worth it, or would you rather see Jrue, Turner, and Iggy together?

The Kings fans say they are pretty much set at SF. They like Casspi and Greene. They want a big.

It seems that most on this board would want a GM like Pritchard or Presti, yet most wouldn't trade Iguodala for Cousins, when that's the kind of move Pritchard or Presti would probably make. Those guys wouldn't indulge in the fantasy that this team is close to being a contender.

^ I have to agree with that sattement. They would trade high price vets for players they like. What makes them good though is their resources and the faith of their owner. Stefanski is probably under a lot of pressure and never had the high picks Pritch and Presti have had.

I have a feeling the 76ers are going to get clipped in a Thaddeaus Young deal. :D
