My top 3 (in order) of the most muscular would be 1) Joey Graham, 2) Dwight Howard, 3) Andre Iguodala
What's everyone else think?
Joey Graham?
You better add the Bucks' Corey Maggette and Chicago's Carlos Boozer to the list of those with solid, ripped, and cut muscle in proportion to their height and size. Both are blessed to be able to work hard and stay in great shapely.
Emeka Okafor and Al Horford to me are put together as well and have natural muscularity and big time strength.
Obviously someone already pointed out LBJ I bet. But I would add one Ron Artest as well to this group. One must separate those who are 'big boned' or a mesomorph body type from those who are lean and yet mean...
Nice vain thread.

If I were a multimillionaire athlete that is as genetically jacked as Howard with access to the best gyms, trainers, and equipment in the world, I'm pretty sure I'd be able to push a little more weight than 345!!!
That is easy....he has long arms. It is harder for him to bench then other guys with shorter limbs who do not have to extend and bring it back as far as he does with less pressure on his joints...
Ignore that. Dwight Howard is a beast and as strong as any of them.

terrible list, although i agree with a few.
there is a difference between jacked and lean
shaq is probably the most jacked guy in the league, and hes not on the list, and fisher is pretty yoked.
its laughable that rondo and hill are above those guys, it should of been most cut players instead

not more ripped, but much more bigger and stronger. but to be fair nba players do to much cardio to keep muscle mass, same with soccer players
vernons a beast, and reggie bush, i remember reading his squat and bench numbers, and being blown away at how strong he is

How is that a given again? You specifically said that size is not correlated with strength. If there was no correlation, why don't we see midgets outlifting guys in different weight classes? BECAUSE SIZE MATTERS.TAI8 wrote:That's because EVERYONE lifts weights in football, wrestling, boxing, etc....that's a given.
TAI8 wrote:The kid benches 135 for 13 reps which approximates to a 190 max. If you saw this kid on the street do you think he would be able to bench 190? No. And this is exactly what I'm talking about, you can't tell how strong someone is just by judging their outward appearance.
..
So that automatically illustrates how size doesn't matter? If a guy with a bigger frame followed the same regime as that kid, don't you think that he would most likely end up with better results?
HoopsMalone wrote:Shaq would still have value... But to think he'd be anywhere near as dominant as he was in the post era is just ridiculous

Actually, people with shorter arms tend to have the advantage in bench pressing because they have a shorter distance to lift the weight. And I know Howard has long arms, but with his genetic makeup and phsique, and being around 275lbs with a high muscle mass and low body fat%, I'm proud that he can only bench 30lbs more than me at 185lbs.
There are a lot of factors involved, and I don't find it hard to believe that Magette can push 460. LIke I said before, my friend is 190 and he can bench 500lbs; I've seen him do it. But he was a collegiate gymnast and has been strong all his life. These guys are pro athletes, and they're pros because they are physically superior to non pros (or else, we'd all be pros!). So their physical abilities are usually far more than ours. And in any sport nowadays, weight training (or some kind of strength training) is a big part. Remember when MJ started weight training? What happened? He started to win titles- and he admitted that his game suffered if he didn't get to workout in the morning.
Weight lifting CAN help you in basketball. The stronger your triceps are, the easier it is to shoot the ball from a distance. Don't believe me? Work out your triceps to failure and then try to shoot a 3 pointer. You won't come close to hitting the rim.

I find it hard to believe that all those guys are benching over 400lbs. That's some heavy weight for a basketball player. If it's true then these guys are juicing without a doubt.

Re: The Most Muscular NBA Players...check out the pics
2 things:
1- everyone saying that people with longer arms have to do more work to lift weights are correct. Literally, "work" in physics is defined as mass x distance, and someone with longer arms has to push the weights a considerably longer distance. This is indisputable; you have to exert yourself more to push the weights an extra 6 inches to a foot or whatever the distance is.
2 - muscular strength is direct result of the area of the muscular cross-section. Hence, wider arms = able to lift more, so long as the extra width is extra muscle mass. Size matters. The kid in the youtube video wasn't skinny in the least, and he was lean; putting up 135 a bunch of times isn't really that impressive.

I'm guessing that in the moment directly following the one shown here, the ball popped.
