I don't think Scalabrine can make Dudu look good.

This. I honestly don't care about his history all that much, but he looked done in ORL. Just get Baron here and were good.

Seeing old white man Stern's big head on a black athlete's body just feels disturbing to me. I almost expect to find him caught in a spider web screaming "Help me! Help me!"

The gun incident was an aberration as far as Arenas' character is concerned. We gave Spree a second shot... so giving Arenas one wouldn't bother me. Guys might go down with injury and both of these guys could be gone if that were to happen further along. You can always just cut Gil if it doesn't work out.

when did the knicks become the new york jets?

??? When we became a playoff team :dontknow:
if davis comes here...im pretty sure bibby would accept the role of being the 5th guard on this team behind davis, fields, shump, td...not sure arenas would be so willing.

as long as we get davis, dont need arenas...after davis, we should focus on signing another big like evans, powe, or even sean williams who now seems ready to sign with a team.

unfortunately, there arent anymore pfs out there who can hit the 3 and play defense like shawne williams could have for us...but evans would be a decent add so we can have another rebounder on the team.
You know what. I was all for bringing both guys here, Agent 0 and Baron but this line right here made me change my mind

I kno its only 1 preseason game but there was no easy buckets for us, not enough ball movement and I think its because of our guard so any improvent on that is a plus even if we have to gamble on davis and arenas. This team needs a shot in the arm.

I'm one of the few Magic fans who probably liked Gilbert, he's a good guy and shows glimpses of his former self. It's one of those things where you look forward to each game hoping he'll drop 20

He will not be ok being the 4th, or 5th guard.

Magic fan here.

Gil needs freedom on offense. He sucked for Orlando because SVG had him on a short leash and we played halfcourt ball where all we do is feed Dwight. When the trade first happened and the new guys didn't know the offense, Gil was BALLIN. We played fast pace and everyone was freestyling on the court. Great courtvision but his shot was not what it was. I was looking forward to seeing him play this year with Dwight (in Orlando).

Take it for what it's worth.

My thoughts exactly. He's also 3-4 years younger than Bibby and a whole lot better when healthy when compared to Bibby.

Why do terrible posters always agree with each other?

I'd sooner resign Rautins than take on Arenas. The roster would be lopsided with two additional guards. The Knicks need another banger in the frontcourt. A three/four swingman or tweener is what they are throwing out there as a need but they lack big men. With what remains on the free agent market, I am guessing they will look to the waiver wire for someone to augment their frontcourt after pursuing Davis.

I gotta believe Arenas still has some game left in him, but that being said, don't want him on my Knicks...

We need instant offense for our second unit. I don't think Balkman is the answer at all.

Assuming we lockup Davis by Monday, I expect our lineup/rotation to look like this by 2012;

Baron Davis/Mike Bibby
Iman Shumpert/TD
Melo/Fields
Amar'e/Jefferies /Jorts
Tyson/Jerome Jordan

Now, if we do add Arenas, we can sub him where TD is & then trade TD with Balkman &/or Walker for some front court depth. Maybe the Thompson kid with the Kings.

Really what is the big deal. Have Bibby, Arenas, and TD duke it out and best player plays and cut the odd man out. IMO it is really going to be between Bibby and Arenas at this point on who stays and who goes. Then you start over when Davis is healthy. Competition is not a bad thing and we really are screwed in the back court if Bibby doesn't improve over the version that played with the Heat last season and at his age it isn't likely.

Can always trade TD, Balkman to help bring something back to help us. IMHO, Arenas would moved to SG.
